I have a tendency to over-pack whenever we head North. High photo-opportunity expectations coupled with indecision make for one heavy suitcase. As is usually the case, I had exactly one opportunity to document an outfit while I was home for Christmas, and this was it. What I wore to visit family and finish our shopping on Christmas Eve.
Everly was kind enough to send over this cute dress recently, which, with it's heavily patterned fabric and short sleeves was a little outside the norm for me, but those little baseball sleeves won me over, and this turned out to be the perfect outfit for what our day had in store for us. It's always good to try something new every now and then. While my personal style is already quite varied, there are still things I have a tendency to shy away from, lately it's been A-line dresses and big patterns, so this dress broke the habit.
I'm so happy we decided to fly up early. Not only did it mean we got to spend more time with our families, but I had time to get my hair done too (and spend time with my favorite hairdresser), and it feels good to start the new year with a new look.
