There's a funny sort of irony to wearing a varsity-style sweater or jacket, so collegiate and classically academic, I was the farthest thing from those descriptors while an actual student. More often than not, my teenage self could be found hidden away in the art room, or sneaking off to watch "High Fidelity" at a friend's house during algebra. It baffles me when some describe high school as the best years of their life, frankly you couldn't pay me enough to relive those years. But, I'll happily don a varsity-style sweater these days, so long as it's in black and not paired with anything resembling 'slacks'.

Penny loafers are really pushing it here, Chris shoved actual shiny pennies into these, you know, just to drive the point home that these are Loafers with a capitol 'L' and meant for penny transporting.

What I wore:
Sweater: ModCloth
Belt: J.Crew Factory
Jeans: Cheap Monday
Loafers: Thrifted/Bass
Bracelet: Thrifted
Phone case: Rifle Paper
Sunglasses: TjMaxx/Ray Ban

I like how your hair dresses up an otherwise casual look.

Love this outfit. Almost purchased a collegiate style varsity sweat jacket last week! I might need to go back for it! Nice phone case too. I love Rifle Paper. I just bought the new black cat meow design from Rifle Paper at one of the boutiques I work at.

I became an art teacher, so I still find myself hidden away in the art room.

I think you can pull off just about any look, Julie. This is fantastic.

Also, I was talking with someone recently about how so many people describe their high school years as the best time of their lives and I, for one, am stoked that I didn't prime out then. High school was rough for me, being into the whole goth/punk thing and also being in the band gave me a one way ticket to Harrasmentville. Haha!

That's really funny that he insisted on shoving the pennies in. Do you think there used to be, like, super rich, big-time a**holes who would wear quarters?

Either way, I really love this look. I'm not for really preppy looks or collegiate fashion myself, but I do adore that jackety sweater.

Let's not go back to High School, ever.

I feel the same way about high school - although, I was too much of a chicken to skip any classes.

Anyway, I absolutely love your sweater - it is so amazing! The shape is just so perfect!
