Well, blogger hates me. I had a whole post written out and...poof, gone. So, suffice to say, this vest and these jeans are two of my most favorite swap finds to date. It doesn't hurt that they're a little fancy either. I'm not a big designer label person, but it's always nice to find something that I normally wouldn't seek out for myself. What about you, are you a major label fan or do you steer clear?

To make it extra fluffy, I flipped the vest inside out, and added a cozy flannel. I love the finished product, very 70's, which as you all know, I'm a big fan of.

Can you believe it's nearly December? The weather has finally decided to ACT like it's winter, at least a little bit, I hear it might snow today!

October 12, 2011: Orange, Pink, Leopard Print, Gold, Black

Dress: Thrifted
Belt: J.Crew
Tights: AA
Bag: Coach/ Thrifted

This is one of my all time favorite outfits, as someone who usually gravitates towards more neutral tones, I love how bright it is and I love the pop of leopard print these amazing boots from Lulu's provide. This is what I wore a couple of weeks ago to the Boston Fashion Week Sip & Swap with The Swapaholics, but completely neglected to get a shot of. I'm glad I waited though, I was so sick during that event, and my hair was a disaster. For the past year or so, I've been pretty ambivalent about my hair, since leaving my old job at The College I just didn't have the money to put into it anymore and allowed it to grow. It wasn't until about a month ago that I finally got fed up: my "ombre" (ha) style was starting to look like a weird hat and the ends were destroyed beyond belief from a year and a half of straightening, curling, etc. Things had gotten out of hand, and the only style I could wear it in was a (admittedly bodacious) topknot on top of my head. This past weekend, I spent four hours in the salon chair of my friend Kristin, and am happily back to a warm reddish brown, with lighter highlights, and clipped ends. Certainly not an enormous change for some, but I feel so much better! I have a lot of plans for this blog over the next few months, one of which is getting back to my hair tutorials! Are there any styles you want to learn how to do?

October 6, 2011: Chambray, White, Gold, Tapestry

Sweater: Swapped
Dress: J.crew
Shoes: ModCloth
Necklace: Swapped

It took me three wears to actually get a photo of this outfit, sometimes life just gets in the way of blogging! I first wore it this past weekend at the Gloucester Grand Prix, and then I wore it yesterday to work (that third time, I have no idea what I was up to). This sweater was one of last weeks Boston Fashion Week Sip & Swap finds, I love it! Give me breton stripes and I'm a happy girl. We're finally getting some cooler weather, and I love that I can add some layers to my outfits.

Tonight I'm headed into Boston with our friends from up north to see NOFX and Anti-Flag and I'm stoked! Just like old times!

October 5, 2011: Black & Blue

Top: Thrifted
Shoes: Swapped
Necklace: Swapped
Belt: Vintage

A few photos from before the rain. Yesterday we had crazy flooding, and I ended up with a few inches of water in my car. Not fun. I've had this skirt from Ruche for (admittedly) a couple of months, I love the polkadots and uneven hem! I paired it with one of my favorite combinations: black and gold. I think I may be in the minority when I say I love blue and black together, and black and brown too.

I'm keeping today's post super short, things have been crazy around here and I have to run out the door to work! Happy wednesday!

NYFW: Polka-Dots and Hot Pink at ModSwap!

(Jen took my photos)
Dress c/o ModCloth
Chain Bracelet c/o ModCloth
Shoes: Urban Outfitters sale ($9)
Watch c/o La Mer via Lucky FABB

The highlight of our NYFW trip was definitely Friday night's ModSwap. For this swap, The Swapaholics teamed up with ModCloth to host a night of swapping and socializing, not only was it super fun, but this swap was also my first "away game" as Brand Ambassador for The Swapaholics. By the time Friday rolled around, I just wanted to wear something super easy and comfortable, setting up swaps is tiring and I needed to be able to move. I chose one my favorite polka-dot dress from ModCloth, and added bright pink accessories and shoes.

It was such a great night! All of the fabulous ladies (and gent) from ModCloth were amazing and I was so excited to see 1/3 of the Delightful Dozen as well!

August 4, 2011: Green, Blue, Brown, Maroon

Top: Swapped
Skirt: UO ($19)
Belt: J.Crew (gift)
Sandals: H&M ($7)
Bag: Swapped
Necklace: Gift

I love having my office day as an excuse to get dressed for work each week, as much as I love my job at the coffee shop and working from home, it's nice to break up the monotony of cut-offs and t-shirts with a cute outfit. The weather over the past week or so has been so pleasant, it's been really nice to not sweat constantly and actually get dressed. This is what I love about August, even though it's hot and still summery, you can tell that fall is on the horizon. Cooler nights, and cooler breezes coming off the ocean, I love it!

This was my work outfit on Monday, a celebration of this past weekend's swap. I tried to make an entire outfit of swapped items, but I think that would be more successful in the fall. Anyways, I love this little seashell top, isn't the collar so pretty? I don't usually wear stuff that's so girly-businessy, but that's why I love swapping: trying new things! I paired it with a basic skirt and my new swapped doctor's bag. I love! It's funny, after a big swap I always find myself searching blogs for stuff I brought to the swap, this time I had a huge bag of stuff i got rid of, I hope I see some it styled soon!

On another note, if you happen to be in the Boston area tonight, I'll be at Madewell on Newbury Street offering styling tips at their Denim After Dark event, I would love to see you there!

ps- Aren't jumping photos funny?

August 2, 2011: Leopard, Denim, Lace, Gold

Top: Thrifted ($5)
Dress: Rodarte for Target (old)
Belt: Vintage ($2)
Necklace: Swapped

What I wore to Saturday's Swap Uncapped, possibly my most favorite outfit lately. Although, every outfit seems to be my favorite these days. I usually can't stay in heels very long, but whether it was sheer force of will or whether they were actually comfortable, I managed to keep these beauties on for the whole day. This weekend's swap was one of the best I've been involved in, we had so much fun! This outfit was comfortable and simple enough to take me from day to night. This was actually the first time I've worn this Rodarte for Target dress, despite having it in my closet for a couple of years. I added the blue denim top to make it a little more summery, and some gold jewelry to add a little shine. And what is better than leopard print as a final touch?

July 4, 2011: Patriotic!

Dress: Swapped!
Belt: Thrifted ($3)
Bracelet: Vintage ($5)
Necklace: Spotted Moth ($34)
Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell ($70)
I've been saving this dress for months just for the 4th of July, it's perfect! When I found it at the last Worcester swap, I scooped it up, and fell in love. To add some volume beneath the skirt, I added a light full skirt that was slightly shorter so it wouldn't show. To round out the patriotic color scheme, I added a red bracelet and and red belt with my favorite party-time necklace. Red, white, and blue is one of my favorite color combinations, it's so simple and I think the contrast is so striking.

I wore this yesterday to a barbeque at Punky's, I love summer barbeque's! I'll be posting some instagram photos of my weekend highlights later today. It was great to have a busy and distracting weekend. How was yours?
