If I Were Young, Fabulous and Rich (rather than just young and fabulous)

This afternoon was rubbish, so I'm spending my evening lounging couch-side with Zephyr. Cats are the best companions for lousy days, they ask nothing of you other than full control of your lap and one of your hands for scratching (ok, so maybe they require a lot). I've been stressing a bit over Christmas lately,to make myself feel better (or worse?) I've been compiling my dream-list in my head...

An attention getting red datebook:

Moleskine 2010 Red Pocket Hardcover Daily Planner ($18.95)

So I don't spill my coffee while running to work:
I like to smell pretty at all times:
Adds even more love to everything I bake:
Flannel with flair:
Somethings gotta go under those over the knee boots:
Matches the birds in my tattoo:
Dreaming of career opportunities:
Chris and I both have puppy fever, until we can get a real Frenchie:
And my piece de resistance, oh how I covet these boots! Let's hope they go on sale after the holidays!
...In reality all I'm asking for is a coffee maker (wow, exciting I know). I'm sure I'll be adding more to my dream list in the coming weeks as I continue to cyber-window-shop!

What items are on your "dream-list"?

What I (Wish) I Was Wearing...

I had one of those days again today, I was up at 4:30 am this morning on my way to work in New Hampshire for the day, so my outfit post just didn't happen. So instead, I'm posting what I wish I could be wearing. I have quite a few events coming up in the next month and a half or so and I've been thinking a lot about what I'm going to wear (or, what the hell am I going to weaaaar!!!). Most of these events- gallery shows, family dinners, blogger meet-ups, holiday parties- take place during the day, so this outfit isn't as glitzy as your typical holiday ensemble, but I still think it's festive. A lot of these events are taking place in the city too, and I would love to not have to be relegated to flats but I need something I can walk in: these wedges seem like they would be walkable and arthritis-friendly! And best of all, the dress has a hood!

I'm poor. Let's pretend I'm not.

Love, love, love...
I've recently come to the sad realization that I can not wear heels without being in excruciating pain. I made the mistake of bringing a pair to New York with me this past week, and made the further mistake of actually attempting to wear them. Bad news bears. By the time 1 o'clock rolled around, my knees had swelled to the size of grapefruits and amputation would have been a welcome relief from the searing hurt coursing throughout my entire body. You might be thinking I'm being dramatic, but I assure you: I'm not. This whole course of events saddened me, I like how heels look. I think they put a certain polish on most outfits. Enter these babies. Maybe I'm fooling myself by thinking these wouldn't be so bad because they're wedges. I don't know. In any case, they're beautiful. Want. Covet. Love.

P.S. Thank you to everyone who left such kind and supporting comments in my last post. I really wasn't having a good day, and hearing from all of you really brightened things up! Thank you to everyone who reads my ramblings- you are all amazing!

Decisions, Decisions...

Well, It's almost that time of year! My Cute Overload Page-a-Day at work and my Nuns Having Fun wall calendar at home are both showing the tell tale signs that the year is almost over- I can't believe it! Time to choose a new calendar!
I think this cute French Bull Dog Calendar would be perfect for my desk at home. Chris and I are both dreaming of the day when we can afford our on little bat-eared cutie, so this little calendar would be a reminder of our future pet! French Bull Dog calender: $11.99 at modcloth.com

Now, work calls for something more grown-up. I know I spotted this first on someone's blog, but I'm not sure who (if it's you, let me know). I love that the images can be clipped for later framing! 2010 calendar: Blancucha via Etsy.com.

Forget that last watch...

For superior time-telling, one must look into the emerald eyes of a serpent!
Watch: Urban Outfitters ($28.00)
Perfection. And inexpensive!
It comes in silver too, but who wants silver when you can have gold?

Above (Left to Right): Ecote Patchwork Hobo Bag (sale $48) Suede Oxfords ($48)
I just received Urban Outfitters Holiday 2009 lookbook in the post the other day, the photography is outstanding! Every year UO and Anthropologie never cease to impress me with their styling and photography, it's all so beautiful, the way the shots are set up...you just want to live in them. The suede oxfords above are just one of many things that caught my eye, at $48 too, very affordable. They also come in a beautiful jade color, but I love grey, so grey it will be!

The Wild Things roared their terrible roars and gnashed their terrible teeth and rolled their terrible eyes and showed their terrible claws (left to right): Where the Wild Things Are x Opening Ceremony, Ira Full Skirt, $290.00, Where the Wild Things Are x Opening Ceremony, Bull Shawl Jacket, $635.00, Where the Wild Things Are x Opening Ceremony, Carol Flare Coat, $575.00

When I look at this collection, all I can think of is that terrible Bare Naked Ladies song "If I had a million dollars" (ugh)! This collection is perfect: Pamela Love Jewelry, Fur, Horns- It's all so beautiful! One thing though: I do find the adult size Max suits somewhat questionable...
