The Script Called for Rain

In this outfit:
Dress: Vintage / Thrifted ($3)
Jacket: F21 ($20 old)
Bracelets: Vintage / Swapped / Gift

Something that I truly love about Pittsburgh: the wealth of murals that seem to be lurking around every corner. It never gets old, driving along when all of a sudden your eye catches something bright and vibrant, another mural. They seem to be everywhere and I'm not complaining. I love the mixture of art and architecture here, while it was strange at first, I've come to appreciate the sheer variety of houses, buildings, murals, and serpentine sets of stairs that wind up every steep hill.

Yesterday was one of those days where it was supposed to rain, but just ended up staying beautiful and 80 degrees. It turned out to even be a little too hot for a polyester dress (when isn't it too hot for a polyester dress?), but I wanted to get at least one last wear of this vintage mini in before summer truly hits. I'm in love with thrifting in Pennsylvania, I feel like it's been so long since I found true vintage at a thrift store (not just 80's and 90's nostalgia), this little dress is a recent gem. After wearing mostly midis and maxis as of late, it felt a little funny to wear something so short, but it's good to change things up a bit right?

I'm truly enjoying the color palette of this dress! Those shoes are adorable and so is the jacket, can't believe that was F21!

Also i hate those days where I'm expecting a cozy day of rain, and it stays balmy and sunny. Ugh, weathermen, stop lying :(

i was about to say, you're having really cool backdrops lately! i love that dress, and $3, that's a crazy great find. I have this one gem around the corner where it has mostly 50s and 60s vintage dresses, it's just about one of the best places in the world :)

"...but it was clear that day, so we faked it." Love that song! I used it to title one of my posts a while back, too :)

I truly love getting all these little glimpses of Pittsburgh. It's nice to see, when I'm missing it! (My brother and his family may be moving back there...oh, I hope!)

I love the femininity of the dress paired with the menswear-inspired shoes - and your hair is just looking ridiculously amazing lately.

i'm just back from barcelona.... if you have not been, you MUST! the diversity of architecture is so fascinating, and the murals and graffiti street art are absolutely stunning.

also, the arid climate is ideal for polyester (though, i must admit, synthetic fabrics are not my favorite, but it is the price to pay with vintage finds).

I live out in the country so I rarely get to take pictures are murals - you're lucky! I tend to love poylester dresses, but hate being hot. C'est la vie, am I right?

You looks gorgeous! It's a beautiful backdrop, too. That shade of yellow looks fab on you. As for it being too hot for polyester, our summer weather was awful, so I haven't felt like that since I was in the US last Summer.

So true about shorter lengths. I too have been doing longer as of late and just wore a little mini skirt the other day - hehe, yes, totally took a moment or two to get used to it! :)
