Remember yesterday, when I said leopard print would be making an encore appearance? It seems to be permeating my life entirely. I used to be obsessed with it- and I guess I still have been- but only recently re-discovered the large contingent in my wardrobe. This outfit was inspired by this image from the upcoming Rodarte for Target line (is anyone else counting down the days....hours...minutes till Sunday's release?):

I honestly never thought to pair leopard and blue together, but I love how it looks. It was also to perfect outfit for Monday, I wore it first to work and then later to the school's Holiday Party. It was an easy transition. Maybe not the most festive, but what do you expect when your workplace's annual holiday party is held directly after work at five o'clock?! Seriously.
It's funny because now, all I can think when I'm getting dressed is "would leopard look good with this?". It's an issue. I'm noticing that, even though my outfits are different every day and I'm really not buying anything new, my wardrobe goes through stages. It's not even a conscious decision. A little while ago I was all about oranges and browns, then I was definitely wearing a lot of flannel and mustards, and now I'm onto animal prints. Do you notice things like this with your own wardrobe habits? Do you go through stages too?

I'm loving belts right now. I was actually just thinking that they're the best part of my wardrobe right now, perfect for tying things together.
You look adorable- I'm really excited about reading your blog now!
I definitely go through stages like that. Right now I'm in a brown/caramel stage.
I, too, am a leopard print fanatic, but I've calmed down about it over the past few months. It's still an all-time favorite, and something that I think will be part of my wardrobe for decades.
You look wonderful, as usual!

Great outfit, and I love your hairstyle here! Perhaps you could do a tutorial on this sometime?
I definitely go through stages. In college I was obsessed with nude/tan/camel colors and pretty much bought only things in those colors. Then I went through a green phase, and now I feel like I'm all about purple.
I'm already in line for Rodarte coming to Target! I'm hoping Portland does not let me down!
I love that you paired leopard print with a light color you look darling. I've always been stuck on pairing leopard with dark colors and prints.
Yes! I totally go in phases. I'll discover something new--a new style or article and totally play with it in almost every outfit--like belting. I wnet through a phase (um and may still be in it...) where every outfit I put together I would ask can this be belted? I also go through phases with actuall articles of clothes. Like my grey boyfriend cardigan, where basically everytime its clean I am working it into a new outfit of some sort.
I love this look! And I'm totally diggin' your hair in these photos. Fab, of course! :)
Love the combination here -- it seems so natural even though I never thought to pair blue and leopard before.
The way I feel about my clothes changes all the time, to the point that I have to hang onto my 'donation' pile for awhile before I let the pieces go. I went through a floral phase two years ago that I'm just now warming up to again because I wore the pieces so much. I seem to do the same thing with animal print.

Gorgeous outfit, Julie! I would never have thought to pair blue and leopard together either, but it looks adorable! That belt is one of my favorites of yours.
And Yes! I most definitely go into phases- like right now, I just want to wear plaid all the time! LOL

your hair is so pretty!

hi julie! the moment i saw your belt the other day, i immediately thought of the rodarte for target one! luckily i live 2 minutes from my target & it's a large enough one that they do stock these designer lines, so FOR SURE i'll be there :)
love this whole look...casual, but the leopard dresses it up!
This looks awesome! Something about the collared shirt dress and the leopard is so elegant with a wild side. Another great look from you!
I go through stages ALL the time, that's why I have a hard time answering questions like 'how would you describe your style'. But that's what keeps things fun and keeps shopping in your closet from getting boring. I'm excited to see more of your animal print phase play out!

Your hair is simply amazing. I hope you don't mind, but I've been using your blog as a bit of hair-spiration. :) Mine is almost down to my shoulders and I'm trying to growing out for the first time in a long time. It touched my shoulders once at age 16, and that was the longest it had been since I was about 11. So I've pretty much always been a short-hair-girl... my hair is super thick and wavy and I'm looking forward to having a lot more of it.
woOo.. NICE LOOKK.. ilove ur dess & ur belt... i really love ur blog!!

i love the leopard print. and yes, doesn't everyone go through phases with their wardrobes where certain pieces or ensembles get a lot more play? right now i just cannot get enough of bright pops of color--it's so dark outside that i have to offset it somehow.
i definitely have a few key pieces that i keep going back to no matter how much i seem to accumulate!
i think leopard suits your style really well!
Oh wow I love your hair!!
and your leopard belt!
Not to repeat everything in the previous comments... but I too am stooooked on the Rodarte line! Which do you think is better to get the pieces you want, bursting through the door at 8am or ordering online?
Your hair looks awesome! Lastly, do you tuck your septum up for work? And what gauge is your jewelry?
Your outfit and hair go so well together! Both look very sweet. I have the bad habit of forgetting that I'm not a mannequin and I have a head that needs tending to as well..
I love your hair :)
You look fantastic! I love, love, love your hair like that! I wish mine were longer!
I'm kind of obsessed with a red skirt that I thrifted a few weeks ago, but a couple of months ago, I was obsessed with pencil skirts, particularly my brown one that I paid $9 for.
