I'm sorry for the excessive photos today, I know it's many people's pet peeves. But, truthfully, I couldn't help it, these photos are some of my favorites in a long time. You may have noticed the general lack of outfit pictures lately, it's not that I'm trying to scale back, but more of a combination of wanting to wait until I get home to find a fun location (let's face it, the office park where I work isn't very exciting), and then just feeling haggard by the time I walk in the door. I guess I'm still working out my schedule, finding the best way to still fit everything in.
Has your weather been crazy lately? The temperature has been so up and down, I'm pretty sure that it's the main contributor to my feeling uninspired. I hate how much the weather affects my mood (to the blogger/reader who suggested vitamin D, thank you!). After a series of crap-tastic mornings, I woke up yesterday determined to break the cycle: I got up on time, ate a breakfast that wasn't just a yogurt, played with the cats (always a mood booster), took the time to iron this amazing dress, and put together an outfit I felt good in. I hate ironing, but I did it anyway, and it was worth it. This dress is just it, I'm in love. The color, the cut, the layers, it's perfection, and when I put it on I felt great. Sometimes if you can't make yourself feel good, you need a piece of clothing that can do it for you. Maybe that sounds weird, but you catch my drift, right?

Beautiful! I feel like the dress sort of echoes your hair somehow, especially in these pictures. In any case, it's perfect.

Wow! This looks awesome!
Like a modern day thrifty Marie Antoinette! :)

Katrina: thank you!
Natasha: haha, I like the idea of a thrifty Marie Antoinette!
DUDE! I love it! All the volume and layers and your hair and shoes- it's all pretty much perfect!
I totally know what you mean. And this dress is pretty epic! It looks awesome on you!
you can never have too many photos. this is beautiful & unexpected! I've been loving your wavy hair lately too :)
I'm just seriously astounded, that dress is a dream. If I had that on I'd definitely feel inspired. If I were you I'd wear that every day of the week, every week of the month, until it finally wore down to the ground haha. I may save up all my monies and get it, I'm in love too!
I also say pooh-pooh to anyone who doesn't like lots of photos. That's why you blog isn't it? Have them go stare at a blank wall if they don't want to look at photos.
Also, my first reaction to these were "her hair and dress look related to each other." Maybe they are cousins? Or an aunt and niece.=? Either way they share family of long golden wondrousness
Your hair! so beautiful!!
This dress....holy moly. It was made for you and that hair!! You look absolutely STUNNING here Julie. Wow!!
BEAUTIFUL dress! You look stunning in it. Is the 'longer at the back' length difficult to style? Like to match with a jacket length or whatever.
Have you ever seen Firefly? I thought you might be referencing Kaylee's Layer-Cake Dress. Beautiful! :)
that dress is AMAZING, and i love the way you've styled it. i definitely know what you mean. lately i've been feeling totally uninspired to photograph any of my outfits so i just... haven't been. but all it takes is one amazing dress!
Yep, this is just incredible. I love the color, the way it flows, everything. It made *me* feel better and I'm not even wearing it :). I have the same problem with weather, Vitamin D definitely helps a lot.
Oh these photos are so lovely Julie and that dress?! STUNNING!! I absolutely love every detail of it, and the whole outfit for that matter. I'm also loving all of the layered jewelry that you've added - so inspiring, as always lady!!
And yup, yup I too am affected by the weather - which is not good when you live in Vancouver... we get a lot of rain here!! xo V
Wowza! You look so beautiful.
I have the same problem with trying to stay inspired and in the loop. If you make yourself stick to a schedule, you WILL feel better. That's my trick, at least!
You look stunning! I do the same thing for outfit posts. When I get home from work, I seriously barely make it into my room before all of my work clothes come off and the sweats come on. This dress looks like it was made for you, and goes perfectly with your hair! Your edgy jewelry balances out the layers of ruffles, everything is just perfect!
Modcloth should but these pictures of you wearing this dress as the catalog photo, everyone would want one! Hope you are having a terrific day!

you are a bohemian goddess. that is all.
If your hair was a dress, that would be it.
WOWZER. This dress is incredible! I can't imagine ever wearing something like it...I really need to dress up more often! Just...WOW.
Also, you always have the most beautiful jewellery!
You have a lot of fantastic looking hair. And an awesome style :)
gorgeous detailing on the dress and it looks great with your hair!

and just so you know, secretly, i don't really care about the location of your photos :) a pretty outfit is a pretty outfit :)
and i'm glad your mood is better today. the weather can be such a buzzkill, but a good outfit always does the trick :)
These outfit pictures are amazing! Your hair, your beautiful dress- it all works together so well! I have a few pieces of clothign too that I always feel awesome in :)
I know this has been said, but oh my goodness that dress brings out your hair - and both look stunning! Every time you post new pics like this, I start thinking about growing out my blonde to a mermaid-worthy ombre… Then I remember I am not that patient and way too fickle with hairstyles.
that dress is incredible and you styled it perfectly!

You look amazing ! That dress is sensational ! :)
girl, you need a haircut! it would be beautiful if it was about 6 inches shorter
Anon: Girl, I'll cut it when I damn well please.
I think this is my most favorite outfit photo series of you of all time. this outfit is PERFECTION!! and your hair is gorgeous.
Good god am I tired of effing anon commenters lately. My sister has been dealing with major cyber bullying. I am sick of the sh*t people fight over on my pinterest. tired or rude comments from people who lurk the web looking to vent their personal frustrations and personal defensiveness through anonymous means. aaaaaaargh.
YOUR HAIR IS LOVELY.

Wow this is stunning, I LOVE the dress with your hair.

Beautiful dress. You look amazing. I'm inspired to wear a long dress soon. Have a great weekend!
Oh also I love Erica Weiner. Discovered her years ago at a shop in Brooklyn. We sell her work too at the boutique I work at.
Julie, this dress is GORGEOUS. Love it.
Oh Julie, your hair is just always so gorgeous!! These are definitely great pictures, I could see why it was hard not to post so many!
These photos are stunning! I love that dress, and I always love your hair!
I'm going through the same thing with trying to figure out a good blogging schedule now that I'm at a new job. I am just so tired when I get home I just want to change into sweatpants immediately.

WOAH! As soon as the my page loaded I made a little envy gasp, you look gorgeous! Pinned the first picture the second it loaded. Simply GORGEOUS

My favorite outfit of yours...ever? I think so. This look suits you so perfectly. Post as many photos as you like - it's your blog!
The weather here has been crazy, too. As much as I hate getting up early, I find that I feel better when I do - that way, I'm not so rushed. Lately I've been opening my blinds (on sunny days) to boost my mood, and counting my blessings (cliche as it may be). It really does help. And so does a bright, killer outfit :)

Oh, and another thing that boosts my mood: having a clean room! It honestly makes me sleep better and wake up feeling more refreshed :)

My first response was literally "FUCK YOU YOU'RE SO ADORABLE!" That's good right? The hair, seriously? STOP IT WITH THAT GORGEOUS HAIR. And the dress. THE DRESS. So many caps. SO MUCH LOVE FOR THIS.
This whole look is so beautiful! You're like some sort of golden mermaid creature. LOVE. THIS.
That dress! Beyond beautiful!
Your hair looks AMAZING! I am a somewhat new reader & was wondering how you got the ombre look--is it just an old color grown out, or did you just dye the ends? It's gorgeous!
I love this outfit! Your hair is gorgeous too!
Found your blog on What the Frock and I'm a new follower! Love your blog! Would love the follow back :)
The Pretty Pinhead
Megan: the ombre i had last summer was just grown out color. The ombre I have now was specifically dyed. I recommend researching your stylists carefully, it's tricky to make ombre look natural, and you don't want to end up with a line across your hair!
ps- make that Meghan* sorry I misspelled your name!
i 100 agree! that dress is just perfection - when i saw the thumbnail on bloglovin, i was like omg, that dress! ;)

the ironing did indeed pay off- if however you hate it- try a commercial clothes steamer- rather portable most of the time and is what all the clothing stores use- super easy :) thebluekazoo
You are magnificent and I love that you included a lot of photos because this is such a fantastic look and you look so beautiful! AHH! I love it so much! I understand that feeling of shittiness and I think eating a better breakfast, bothering kitties and wearing that dress is a great solution to the problem! I think I need cats, a breakfast sandwich and that dress to help me as well :)!
