Today is one of those days when I am just so happy I have some photos from my archive to post. I am feeling less than stellar and apparently the weather is down in the dumps too, it seriously feels like October outside right now. I've shut my windows and am drinking tea, even my cats are in hibernation mode, it was all I could do on my lunch break to get them to uncurl themselves from their little nest and hang out with me (yeah, I know how that statement sounds. I'm a cat-lady.).
Eh, anyways. I did really wear this outfit...it was just last week! I didn't post this outfit originally, because it's not my favorite ensemble (in retrospect, I would have changed the shoes) but many of you asked what dress I was wearing in the photo I posted from my brother's graduation, and it's this one! I've posted it a few times before, it's kind of my go-to dress for family functions. It's fun, but doesn't make my family member's scratch their heads in confusion. It's also what some consider to be an appropriate length, although i usually like my dresses a little shorter.

Lately I've been experimenting with parting my hair down the middle and have found that when I curl it outwards it looks more Farrah, and less middle-school-dork (middle school was the last time I parted my hair down the middle, I was also a huge unfortunate dork).
Also, I got a ton of questions about the kind of curler I used in this post, I use a 1" Hot Tools curling iron whenever I curl my hair. I have no idea where it came from, I'm pretty sure my mom bought it in the early 90's...no joke. I've noticed that more recent models don't get as hot, this curler gets hot as hell and is probably why they don't make them like this anymore. It's dangerous, but it works.

I love that look on you... and about the shoes, well, whatever floats your boat but never EVER ever do clogs... I hate them and everyone looks bad on them xD
And I know what you mean when you talk about the curler, mom had one like that (I broke it, oopsy doopsy!) and it was hotter than the stove
BTW I love your blog and would love to see what you think of mine, it's a baby (just born a few days ago) but still... I'd like to see what you think of it http://ella-fashionista.blogspot.com/
Ok, well you might not like this outfit, but I do!
I think it's super cute, including the shoes.
The floral print is gorgeous, and your hair looks so lovely with it.
And I'll never stop saying it: I love the way your tie your belt.
Your hair looks great parted down the middle...reminds me a bit of Ali McGraw....which is a great look for you! And I don't know why you don't like this look...it's sooo cute!!!..and I LOVE the shoes with it!!
Well you look fabulous!! The whole look is pretty much perfect for a graduation! And I love the shoes with it.
THat dress is amazing!!
I like how you live on the edge with a super hot curler... It works great though, your hair is constantly enviable!
I like this very sweet ensemble!
Hair parted down the middle looks great on you. It makes your face long and elegant.
Natasha, Ali McGraw is one of my favorites! such a complement, thanks you!
I think this outfit is totally post worthy - and i'm glad to get to see the whole dress from this past weekend's graduation. I think you kept the girly flower dress really interesting with the blazer and the double wrap belt (or is it just 2 belts?).
On a side note - I can completely sympathize with dressing for family functions. I love my family, but they aren't quite into fashion, so I feel the need to pick out a family-friendly outfit too or incur a barrage of questions/comments/confused looks!!
Your sunnies and the lil ring are amazing . honest to god when i saw the first photo i lost my breath for a sec. :)
I love this dress on you every time you wear it! I have yet to wear mine in an outfit post. Anyways, I am also loving the middle part on you. I have been trying to grow my bangs out because I keep seeing pictures of girls with long bangs and cute side braids and loose ponytails with a middle part and its just too cute. My bangs are not long enough to do it yet. I tried the other day and yes you are right- it was middle school all over again. Kev could not stop laughing. Someday though...

i like the hair. it's very fresh and summery. always fun to do something different every once in a while!
The dress is really lovely, and you look fantastic in it even if it doesn't have your preferred hemline! I'm also loving your hair styled a la Farrah!
You look wonderful in this outfit. I love the dress and your ring!
You look absolutely beautiful. I don't think I could explain it any better.

whoever said ali mcgraw - i second that! total ali vibes goin' on... that dress is so pretty and i LOVE those sunnies! :)
Only you could pull off those glasses and make them look good, if it were me wearing them, I would look completely ridiculous. Loving the florals as allways.
Lovelovelove the dress! I would also like to steal your shoes ok? :P

I really like those shoes with this dress actually! I wish I could change my parting but I have a cow's lick so it only stays in place on a side parting. When I try a middle parting my hair sticks up everywhere!
what a lovely dress.. great wedges, too. this whole outfit is totally a 'yes' :p

I know what you mean about family-appropriate outfits, they just don't understand :).
I don't know what you're talking about, I think this outfit is lovely! I am a gigantic fan of floral dresses. I am also really liking the blazer with the dress.

Such a sweet dress! I really like the idea of you having this dangerous, illegal ultra-hot curling iron!

i love your hair parted in the middle! my bf suggested the other day that i should grow my hair out and style it like farah!
I am insanely jealous of your hair. It is seriously gorgeous. And hey, it might be dangerous, but at least it works well? I seriously need a new curling iron....
