Some of you may already be aware of my love of graveyards, this one in particular, and yesterday was a particularly graveyard-y day. Living in New England, we have some spectacularly old gravesites, especially where I live: Salem, MA is just down the street... and we all know what happened there. Did you ever do grave rubbings (where you take a crayon or charcoal and a piece of paper and rub over the headstone to make an impression)? We did them a lot in elementary school, the Montessori school I went to was right across the street from a huge graveyard and it feels like we were over there all the time for one project or another.
Anyways, my outfit. I love this and am predicting it will be on heavy rotation in my closet! My mom gave me this sweet lace vest for christmas, it was such a surprise because I thought I had discovered all of her old clothes years ago. Apparently she had a stash! I was coming up short on what to wear it over until I found the black lace tank top underneath. This skirt was packed away for winter for about a week until I wanted to wear it desperately again, plus it's been a bit cold lately so the suede keeps me warm but not too hot! I went with simple accessories, Chris' hat (which I wear more than he does!), a black necklace, and my silver double finger cross ring. I love these rings. I had given up hope of ever finding one, but then Punky gave me one and I found a silver one the next week at F21! What luck!

So, I'm so glad I can finally talk about my job change! I've been holding it in for weeks but couldn't announce it until the notice had been posted for the College community. To be honest, I'm finding myself overwhelmed with the possibilities. To be sure, I'll be looking for another full-time position (almost) immediately, but this will be the first time I've been unemployed since I was 14! I'm really looking forward to a couple of days rest before I start the whole resume, cover letter thing. It's been a long time since I had any semblance of a vacation. Thank you to all who left encouraging, career change words!
Ok, I'm off to clean my kitchen. I'm a thrill seeker. I know.

Bea, that's lame
I love the cemetery photos, and the outfit is very cemetery appropriate somehow.
In case anyone's thinking of going out to do them, though, making grave rubbings is not legal in most states anymore -- too much damage to the stones.
Best of luck on the job hunting.
Good luck on your job hunt! Love photos, taking photos at the graveyard is underrated.
Really perfect outfit for the setting. :] The lace over the black is a perfect contrast—better than wearing white under the lace for sure. & the necklace is quite appropriate for the cemetery... those are some interesting tombstones... A bit spooky how they all sideways and whatnot...
girl, you lookin' svelte! good luck with your career plans. that kind of change is so damn exciting!
Love this!! That white vest is awesome! Go mom!
I LOVE this outfit!
you look so pretty! hats like that are my favourite.
good luck with the job hunt! definitely take some time to rest, though. :)
I love old cemeteries, they're always best in the old South or East Coast, so much history! But we never did grave rubbing, seems a little morbid haha
My mom needs to take xmas present classes from your mom :) I love the lace, and the kind of goth feel to your segment. Not full on goth, just a few little elements. Only YOU can make a graveyard look chic. Blows my mind :) Great job girl!!
Love the lace shirt. I think the pattern of the lace is quite unique and not like your run of the mill version. Also, I have to agree with you on graveyards - our grave rubbing field trip was always my favorite in grade school.
ah, i did gravestone rubbings all the time. definitely creepy - i remember visiting famous cemeteries in europe with my parents when i was younger and getting lost for about 20 minutes.
ps - i'm a fellow montessori kid, too! it's such a neat form of schooling.
Very gorgeous.
Have you ever been to Marblehead's Old Burial Hill? It's my favorite.

I used to spend every Memorial day in Arlington cemetery do grave rubbings. My great uncle (who was a POW in WW2) was buried there and we always brought flowers and did our little grave rubbings. It was morbid but fun.
And your outfit is very pretty. I love the lace top. You wear it well:)
Great photos and I love that ring. Can't believe you got it for $3 at Forever21!!!

I was going to take photos in a cemetary the other day but thought that was a little creepy, however these look great, kind of mystical. I love the lace top by the way.
Great location.
You have this great old graveyards there in America. I'm a little jalous. I love those atmospheres there very much.
Sometimes I think I'm a little unnormal because I like such gloomy places to take my photos..haha.
Oh I really loved the black and beige lace together, it looks so beautiful!!! Ah and I have you in my latest post, if you like to know: http://vesaire.blog.com

I LOVE these photos - I'm graveyard obsessed, too (but we don't have any SUPER old ones in MO like you do!). The outfit goes perfectly with the graveyard (I hope that sounds like a compliment, because it is!)

AHHH. I love cemeteries toooooooo! Seriously. A lot of people think I'm strange for my obsession with them, but I just find them beautiful! I love what you're wearing too- it's perfect for the shoot. I love your lace top :)
This is SUCH an amazing photoshoot. Everything about it is just lovely.
Graveyards are the best - more quiet than parks, and it's fun to find interesting names and make up stories about them.
Wow, I actually never thought doing a little photo shoot at the grave yard, a bit creepy, but I still think it's an awesome idea..!!!
