Top: J.Crew thrifted at Savers (8.00)
Skirt: Lark&Wolff via UO (20.00 sale)
Shoes: Matiko via LF (40.00 sale)
Belt: Thrifted via Savers (1.00)
Tights: ?
With the pattern on this shirt, who needs accessories? I found this silk J.Crew shirt this past weekend on Chris and my weekly thrifting excursion to Savers. Someone very stylish must have cleaned out their whole closet, because I hit a veritable jackpot of J.Crew items, mostly tops. This pattern is something I would have died over in 7th grade, was anyone else obsessed with the 1970's as a middle schooler? I didn't want my outfit to get too costume-y (i.e. Marsha Brady), so I kept the rest of it subdued and a bit prim with a navy skirt and navy tights. For some reason i always ignore the shirts/tops section at thrift stores, I don't know why because there are always so many...well, maybe that's why...there is always too much! haha! I've been making more of an effort lately though to dig through them, I need to diversify beyond my typical oxford button-up obsession. Do you ever find yourself doing that? focusing on one thing at a time, like just buying shoes, or just buying jeans? It's a habit I need to break!

I'm glad everyone enjoyed my Rockport post! Out trip definitely motivated me to try and make more solid plans for my weekends, usually we flounder around for half of it just trying to figure out what there is to do! I'm still looking for ideas for this weekend, it looks like it might be raining again (as it is now) bummer...

I love this pairing ~ what great finds you make!
OK I seriously am in LOVE with that top...I've always loved 70's styled clothes (not double knit polyester tho)...the print in that top is fabulous as are the colours!!
obsessed with this! It might be my favorite of yours yet, I loove the shirt it is very Marsha Brady, and those shoes! everytime you wear them I love them more!

I love that shirt, and it's J. Crew, such a lucky find! I always find myself ONLY buying skirts and dresses and then I have an abundance of those, but no shirts or shoes or tights, etc. to wear them with..
Insanely jealous over that top!!!!
$8.00?!?!?!
I die....

Great outfit. Currently hitting my obsession with all things retro!

Adorable outfit! I was in love with that print when it came out last year. I almost bought the bathing suit in that print, but it was over $100, so yeah, no. Anyways, you styled it up really great!
fabulous top! LOVE LOVE LOVE. you look amazing!!!! <3
The top is super amazing, and so is the skirt.
Good find! I love how you put this together too...
I always skip the shirt section too because I feel like there are too many old, faded Cotton Ginny (was that store even in the US?) tshirts to wade through before I ever find anything good.
I LOVE the top! And you did the right thing toning down the rest of your outfit to make it the star!
wow nice score! I love how you paired it with the skirt
I think this is my new favourite outfit of yours.
i'm in love with that top - like complete, total and utter, unabashed love. yum.
Haha, love the post's name! This outfit is so great! That blouse is such a good find, I love it with that pleated skirt!
the 70s definitely influenced fashion when i was in middle/early high school .. lots of halter tops and crazy patterns and flair jeans were still the rage! isnt it funny how quickly we cycle in and out of different decade influences!
i looove how your big hair plays with the proportion of your skirt!
This is such a cute outfit! And I can't believe that someone would sell back such cute shirts but it means you get some really cute stuff out of it.
Oh, that's an awesome skirt. Love the way it flounces out. And I LOVE that shirt!! Yes, I was obsessed with the 70's in middle school. Couldn't get enough of orange polyester! In fact, I had a shirt very much like this one! Only a button up!
Good luck on your weekend planning!

I think you pulled off this print beautifully. So genius to pair it with black! I just started going through the shirts/tops section at thrift stores before my shopping ban -- lots of good stuff, but so much to wade through.
I was obsessed with the 70s in elementary school -- lots of flower power and lace vests!
Love the hair!
I love this outfit. I never grew out of my love for the 70s! It's still my favorite :]
I'm definitely digging your style. :]
I could see how this shirt could go wrong, but you styled it so well! Wonderful outfit. <3
And I definitely need to break that habit as well haha
Amazing thrift store find! That shirt is fabulous.
Cute cute! Love that skirt.
I always ignore the tops section at op-shops for some reason too.
Lovely shirt! And I love your hair in this :)

The pattern on that top is fantastic! I remember being obsessed with getting a pair of bell bottoms in middle school. I wanted them so bad!

LOVE the top - it doesn't seem like a J.Crew piece! The flare of the skirt is so darling!
Oh dear, I swear that top reminds me of something I owned and despised when I was eleven. But holy cow how brilliant it look son you and with that belt to that skirt. Unfair. Why do other people pull things off?!
Love that top! I saw it a while back & loved it but knew I could never pull it off... but lady, you SURE do!
xo
I totally "Tumbld" this and forgot to comment. Love it, the pattern is so cool and the way you styled it made it perfectlly modern.
this pattern is just lush! i love the fact that you kept everything else really simple – the complexity of your top is fascinating!

I Love your Hair!
I love that top. I have a similar one I've been in a quandry about how to style, so you've given me some ideas! But, I definitely do the same thing in thrift stores. Every time I go back I tend to gravitate towards the same rack, so I have to push myself to explore other areas! Annie.
