This was something we had attempted to do last weekend, see the new show at the Warhol- Regarding Warhol-but it just didn't happen. Yesterday was much more motivating though, with the sun shining and relatively mild temperatures, so after a big breakfast at home Chris and I headed over to the North Shore. The show was amazing, and if you have a chance to go, I highly recommend it. It was, once again, a reminder that I need to be creating more, making more. Seeing all of those artists that I admire so much in one place- Cindy Sherman! Kara Walker! Jeff Koons!- brought me back to college when I could pour over their work for hours, and was so motivated to create work of my own. I picked up a pamphlet for the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts- has anyone taken classes there? I'm interested. We made sure to take a photobooth photo, for the collection. It's hard to believe that it's been nearly a year since we last took photobooth pics, when we lived in Massachusetts we made almost weekly visits to the booths over in Salem when they were open.

Afterwards we strolled around for a bit and watched the geese (I really don't like geese), and attempted to take outfit photos. But once Chris requested I do ninja moves, it was all over. Give me a deserted alley and a request for any kind of "moves" and I can guarantee the photos won't come out. And yeah, I know, any ninja caught doing this shit (sorry) would be dead in a second. Stealth is not my strong point.

(If you can see past my moves and you are wondering what I'm wearing: The jacket is Dear Creatures, my shirt is American Apparel, my jeans are Madewell, Converse sneaks, thrifted Coach bag, and KVT scarf)

This looks like so much fun! My best friend went to school in Pittsburgh and one morning while she was busy in rehearsal I went to the Warhol museum by myself & I was SO glad I did! Photo Booth pictures included. :]

Haha those pictures are amazing! And sounds like my kind of day. I know what you mean about experiencing art and getting that kind of aching feeling of motivation. I feel that almost every night when we play records!

i love the moves, it is evidence you are having a wonderfully fun afternoon. attractive and flattering poses that actually showcase the outfit are great and all, but sometimes, something spontaneous and goofy is what i really want to see. you can see the clothes bend, have shape, actually being worn. love it.

if you do feel so inspired and start creating, please share! pass the inspiration along. good luck!

Sounds like a great inspiring day. I need some creative inspiration during this dreamy time of the year here in VT. Sunday was beautiful but when it's overcast and grey it's so depressing. I love Cindy Sherman. I had a boyfriend in college who loved him too and made me poise for an assignment he had to do to recreate one of her photos. She's amazing. Love the outfit. Looks so classic and comfortable.

I took a wheel thrown pottery class this past summer at Pittsburgh Center for the Arts and it was so worth it! I learned a lot and ended up with some cool and functional stoneware. I would definitely recommend taking any of the classes there.
