Second to last photo via Erin, all others- mine
It's getting to be that time of year where I end up feeling a bit solitary. My mind turns to thoughts of traveling home, making mental plans for a spring or summer vacation, and my weekends suddenly feel too short. Too short to see anyone, too short to get everything done. It's a bad habit of mine, turning inward and cutting myself off, spending my weekends alone when that solitude could easily be remedied with a phone call. So, yesterday was a welcome reprieve from those bad winter habits. I managed to get myself out of the house relatively on-time, picked up Mandy, and soon we were on our way to Cleveland for brunch and shopping. It was the perfect day, filled with rad ladies, good food, and tons of vintage. Thank you to everyone who sent along recommendations for things to do in Cleveland, even though I was only there for a few hours, I can't wait to go back and explore! And now I'm starting my Monday off on a much more cheerful note, it's amazing what a little human contact will do.
Everyone I met yesterday, if you're interested in checking them out:
Katy of Sugar and Chiffon
Jessica of Midwest Muse
Mandi of Making Nice in the Midwest
Megan of Kiddo TV
Dina of Dina's Days
Lauren of Someone Like You
Mandy of The Curvy Blogger

It was really nice to meet you and I'm glad a little Cleveland trip could put a little cheer into your Monday. And I'm still swoonin' over the jacket. It's been on my wanted list forever.
Awww, what a lovely get-together! I really wish I had a bigger community of local bloggers around here.
I totally develop the same mopey habits around this time of the year. I basically had a 3 day weekend because of a snow storm and I did NOTHING. Ugh. It was kind of nice, but mostly depressing haha.
glad that you went on a cheerful trip! Looks like fun times!

It was so nice to meet you! I'm sorry we didn't get to talk more...guess that just means we will have to have another blogger get together soon!
I know exactly what you mean, my personalty longs for human contact. We should get together soon and go thrifting. I'm down to heading to Cleveland with you next time. Happy Monday <3

What a fun little get-together! I act the same way around this time of year...it's so easy to hole up inside when the weather's bad. Not the best way to act, I know...but spring really is coming, and I know I'll soon be antsy to see people :)

You are not alone lady. I have been feeling the same way and your words really struck a cord with me. I'm glad you got out of the house and had some awesome girlfriend time. It was just what I needed too. *hugs*
XOXO
i've never been to cleveland, and, honestly, always had kind of written it off, but it looks like there are some super fun places to explore! thanks for showing me up and teaching me (once again....) not to judge without experiencing first.
I know what you mean, it's scarily easy to isolate yourself, especially in this day and age when we're all supposed to be so connected.
Anyway, you all look fabulous in your vintage-y outfits, and that hat display just makes me squeal with envy. Seems like you all had so much fun!!
Glad to see you had a good time! I haven't been to Cleveland in a long time (dated a guy in college from there), and there really is more to do there than you would think!
Hope your good vibes last throughout the week!
yay! what a fun afternoon. it was so nice meeting you. i'll have to let you know when we make it out your way. we tend to get to pittsburgh any time a good band is playing.

Those vintage playboy magazines gave me quite the laugh! I'm a huge fan of Mandi, but I haven't come across any of the other bloggers. I'll have to check them out.

I feel the same, I never want to leave my house in Winter point. Looks like you had fun :)
Oh, it was quite a pick-me-up for me as well! This time of year life seems so boring, and it's been nice to have some fun things happen all of a sudden. It was so nice finally meeting you! I always get nervous about blogger meet-ups for some reason, but everyone was so nice and real and now I just can't wait to get together again. :)
Oh that semi- candid shot turned out really nice! This really was a great opportunity to make new friends, something that seems to be more difficult to do as I get older.
Sounds like you all had a great time!
Yeah! Cleveland! Miss my hometown
How totally fun and amazing - I know Jessica! I wish I lived closer to you all!
