Where I wore it: To the office!
Why is it that when I actually think to bring an umbrella to the office, it doesn't rain? Today was one of those days. I suppose it's better to be prepared, but I often find myself in poor weather terribly unprepared. Despite the dry skies, I still wanted to show off this vibrant umbrella I found at the Miller Antique Mall in Verona a couple of months back. I love accessories when they can be both fun and functional, and a bright and bold pattern is the perfect way to brighten up an incredibly grey day.
As far as the rest of my outfit goes, this dress is much more...dear than what I typically gravitate towards. Peter-Pan collars usually aren't my jam, but I made an acception because this dress is crochet, and let's face it: it was on sale. I do love it though, and am happy I fell for it. I can see it working for cooler summer days (like this) or with tights for early fall. I am thinking of replacing those pearl buttons with something a little less...pearl though. We'll see. The heart belt and arrow bracelet just seemed to want to be paired together.

Your dress is exquisite.
Love the combo of the 60s/70s retro style!
I just adore that belt! Kani (K is for Kani) wore a similar one last week, and I really can't get enough of jewelry-esque belts!

I love that dress. Super cute. The photo of the umbrella is super lovely as well.
wow, what a beautiful looks a like vintage outfit! I'm totally in love with your hat.
aw the umbrella was a cute touch! i really love that dress- and paired with the floppy hat it really gives it a vintage vibe.
such a sweet dress! you still have that edge to your look though, like always. :)
The dress is beautiful but a little soft. You should add some studs on the collar or bright buttons. I'm sure you will make it into something great. I love your style. -Heidi

Heidi, I completely agree. It's those damn pearl buttons plus the Peter-Pan collar. I'm thinking I may try to find some vintage wooden buttons to make it a little more 70's and a little less "I'm 7 years old". Love the stud idea too!
:)
ooh, i love the dress! but then again, i suppose i often gravitate towards the sugary sweet... i had actually been eying that dress for quite a while, so it's nice to see it pop up here! you look great!
this is totally darling and dear! i love pearls, so i would vote to keep the buttons; you could probably give this an edge with some more severe accessories (geometric earrings?) and maybe a smoky eye or a heavy liner.

I think you make the dear work for you, though. It's not so cutesy when it's worn with attitude!

What lovely photos... and LOVE that dress. I'm loving the pop of colour from the umbrella too - you look stunning as always Julie!!
And I too can see that dress looking incredible paired with tights. I'm secretly getting super excited for fall fashion! Ah, so my fave time of year!! xo V
Absolutely gorgeous!
I love this dress! I just have to ask though, what size are you wearing? I'm on the website now and I have no idea how things on Asos usually run. 6 sounds like it could be just right but if it runs small (or if you're wearing a 6) then I'll have to try a bigger size!
So pretty! & Love love this bracelet.

Carleigh, ASOS sizes are so hard to figure out! I bought a six, it's a little big in the top, but the bottom fit well, so I'll just take it in a bit :)
Stunning! And your hair is just gorgeous :)
