This skirt was one of those purchases that I hemmed and hawed over while at the store, was it too basic? Would I wear it often enough? I ended up buying it, and since then I've worn this little blue skirt more times than I can count. It's one of those Most Valuable Purchases (I know, I know) that gets worn more than anything else in my closet. I've been thinking of those staple pieces lately, a concept that's a little difficult for me, since personally, I think my style is all over the place. But these versatile items are important to have, a good foundation for an easy outfit.
Do you have a wardrobe MVP?
P.S. Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes! xo

i LOVE it when you buy something, and it turns into an mvp. i strive for all purchases to be like that, although no one can be perfect :)

Please, Julie, tell me, how do you do that? Most of the time you wear pretty basic outfits, but still they look so cute and special. You actually own my dream closet.
Have a good week!
Really lovely look, and I really love that necklace.

Julie - I adore that shape of skirt, great to see that you bought it. It's a fabulous addition to any closet!! And oh my goodness, the little bee's on your sweater are so cute. Not to mention, your colour palettes are always perfection. Hope your day is fantastic & happy belated!! xo veronika
ps - thank you so much for your comment, sweet lady! :)
I have something of an irrational dislike of bees, but even I'm won over by their cuteness on that cardigan. Lovely as always!
i love your jcrew cardigan!! it was such a great deal too.

Love the skirt! Looks lovely
My MVP is definitely my black wool winter coat! I splurged and bought myself a nice one when I lived in France and it has been a staple of my winter wardrobe for the past five years. Also, a good pair of shoes--my nice hiking boots are completely un-glamorous but a critical part of my outdoor gear, plus I've worn my black calf-high boots innumerable times.
Which swap did you get that sweater at? If it was at one of the last couple of Boston swaps, it may have been mine! Haha, I definitely swapped that exact same one at some point.
Cute outfit! I love the skirt and maroon tights :)

These colors are all fantastic together! I love your cute little pleated skirt too. And those shoes are awesome.
Your sweater has tiny bees on it! Kate spade made a bee print blouse a few years ago that still haunts me. I am super cheap (aka broke. aka awesome), and could never bring myself to buy the epic bee print blouse. Who knew J crew had an affordable alternative. Don't be alarmed if I go hunting for the same piece.
I have quite a few MVP's in my closet. I have this little cardigan that I've been wearing non-stop lately.
lovely outfit, the necklace is so beautiful! and the skirt was a good buy, definitely!
my MVP are a black skirt (i absolutely love it) and my trench coat from massimo dutti, I already have it for two years now and I love love love it!
