Moth to a Flame

In this outfit:
Southwestern Dress c/o Everly Clothing
Cardigan: J.Crew Factory ($24)
Tights: AA (old)
Clogs: ModCloth (old)
Belt: Vintage Dior- thrift ($2)
Bracelets: gift from Punky
Necklace: gift

This dress from the sweet ladies at Everly added a much needed dose of color to last week's doom and gloom weather. Though, as happens often, just when I think I'm breaking away from "my colors", it turns out in fact I'm not. I'm just wearing them all together in a pattern. There is no denying my love for ochre, burgundy, navy, and brown, November through March, that's what I wear. But I can't help knowing what I like, if there's a long-chain necklace, 70's style platform, or pleated maxi-skirt or dress within 50 miles, I'm there. Scoopin' it up. Moth to a flame style.

Do you have go-to colors or styles you can't help but be drawn to?

I'm constantly drawn to peach or berry red colours. My wardrobe has far too much of it! I'm trying to supplement it with mustard, green and teal :)

Love that dress on you! I had seen it on their site...

I'm always drawn to shades of red and purple, but I've been trying to branch out more lately.

Also, your hair is perfect here.

Mustard. I am all sorts of addicted to wearing mustard. In addition, it is impossible for me to pass up anything chartreuse (and by anything, I mean even a milk crate). But is to so bad to have a 'signiture style'? I'm all about high-waist skirts and cowboy boots, and proud of it! As my mama says, it makes me easy to shop for.

Having said all of that, I'm a little bit in love with this outfit. And a lot in love with that cardigan. What a steal, too!

This whole outfit is just awesome! I'm loving the clogs, I'm breaking in my new pair now (not a smart idea on my part to go without socks, but the weather in Albany, NY was begging for it this morning). As for the colors I'm drawn to, I totally blame Meg and Jack White for my addiction to red, white, and black color schemes. Fell in Love With A Girl came out when I was in the 10th grade, so they did a good job at indoctrinating me ;D

Beautiful dress! Love the print!

My to go color is mustard (with black or dark blue)

I'm always drawn to bright colors - neons, basically! Whenever I'm out buying something basic like a trench coat, I almost always skip over the neutral colors like black and beige, and go straight for the bright reds and hot pinks!

Aggghhh, that cardigan. And that dress. So perfect!

I am always drawn to mustard yellow and teal - and green, lately. And this weekend I came to the realization that a disproportionate amount of my dresses have a v-neckline with a bow!

Oh, for sure! I don't think I can go three days without wearing a button down. What can I say? Once a tomboy, always a tomboy! As for colors, I can't seem to resist royal blue or kelly green.

This dress looks amazing on you! I love the colors and print.

I love this whole look! And the southwestern dress is perfect. I love a bright coral or poppy hue, and tend to always reach for patterns with those colors in them.

I always accidentally buy grey, grey, grey! Especially gray sweaters and tops. It's borderline silly. But at least you are drawn to actual colors! haha. love that dress.

Navy, grey and beige, even though those colors really don't fit me because of how pale and pink my skin is. I have no clue why I always end up buying those colors!

Love love love the dress and the color of the cardigan really takes it to the next level.

LOVE that dress! We have the same default colors. I am forever wearing mustard, olive, burgundy, etc. If I'm not wearing those colors, it's straight up black, with varying shades of grey and brown. I should really branch out, I guess. :)
