This rain is officially driving me bananas. Yesterday was day three and I was determined to actually get some outfit shots. It's definitely been an adjustment getting back to a normal 40 hour week, especially since Chris is now on a similar schedule as well. I've been shopping around for a new camera lens in hopes of being able to take self-portraits again soon. I love having other bloggers to collaborate with at work, but I've also been taking self-portraits forever (before this blog was even an idea) and I miss those projects.
Well, the weather has finally cleared a bit today and it's actually feeling like chilly November. Rumor has it that we might even see some snow this weekend! I have my fingers crossed, I would love to have a little (a little) snow on the ground for Thanksgiving.

Oh wow, those boots are so cute! They look really comfy too which is not something I can usually say about heels and boots haha!
Aw, I sympathize on the rain bit. I live in a beautiful but rainy city, yup, it sure can drive me nuts!! And Julie this silhouette is just stunning - LOVE that long layered cardy, it's absolutely beautiful!! xo V
April- these boots are SO comfy! I added an arch support insert, which definitely helps my high arches, but I would definitely recommend them!
Blue Roses- The necklace is from Black Sparrow on Etsy!
Rain is funny. One lazy day of rain is like a treat, but 3 days of rain (especially when you have to work) feels like a jail sentence. And if possible, I'd like to send any snow coming to Boston over to you, since you've requested it! :D
You look beautiful in this outfit!
I love the color combination of your outfit! That dress is adorable.
I love this pretty, cozy outfit, especially the combination of those beautiful colors and textures! And that pendant is absolutely amazing. It must have been a spectacular gift to receive.

okay, those booties are pretty amazing. They look warm, too!
What an amazing sweater, it's perfect for drizzly, cold days. Love it paired with the slate blue and burgundy!

I hope you're enjoying Pittsburgh. It has certainly been far too rainy for my like. Will you be going to Light Up Night this weekend? Since I'm new to the area I haven't been to it but I hear it is AMAZING!

incredible pleated dress. you look gorg!
I have that sweater, as well, and I'm a bit obsessed with it. Who doesn't want to feel like they're wrapped up in a blanket all day? I've yet to pair it with a dress, but I really like how you styled it here - great mix of textures and proportions.
almost all of your outfit posts is c/o. this blog is more of an ad campaign then a personal style blog.
That looks like the perfect cozy cardigan! I love the color of your tights with the whole outfit as well

Siouxsie: I'm sorry you feel as if my blog is an "Ad Campaign". While I understand it may seem as if all of my clothes are c/o judging by this one particular outfit, that is certainly not the case. In fact, if you look back to my two previous outfits, the majority of the clothes I'm wearing aren't c/o at all. Actually I bought them a long time ago, see I wear a lot of stuff over and over- because I really like it. Take this sweater and dress, I've worn them both a few times before, with items already in my closet, this time I just happened to enjoy the pairing of the two, and they just happen to have both been provided by a company. I am not going to censor my personal taste to make sure not everything in an outfit isn't c/o. I think that would be ridiculous. This blog showcases MY personal style, all of the clothes I wear are MY style, regardless of where I got them. I partner with companies that i stand behind and shop at independently (whether or not I'm sponsored by them).
So, I'm sorry that you may not like my personal style, I'm not sure what else to tell you, but there are a lot of blogs out there, many of whom choose not to accept c/o items at all- which may be more in line with your values.
Kindly,
Julie
i love your outfit. the earth-thones match so good. and btw what doe the letters c/o mean exactly? (been reading the 'discussion' above and I understand now that the clothes are sponsored)
gorgeous colors, and i love the pleats in your dress!

Steffys Pros and Cons
Clio: Thank you! I think earth tones are really my go-to, especially this time of year. To answer your question: when an item is listed "c/o" it means "courtesy of" it's a short way of saying that the item was provided by a sponsor of my site. Many bloggers have similar policies, but part of my sponsorship agreement is that I have to approve/choose the items that are sent to me. So while yes, the item was sent by a sponsor, it's still representing my personal style because it's an item I would've bought for myself anyway.
To anyone interested:
There is a great discussion happening on IFB right now that pertains to this exact issue being discussed:
http://heartifb.com/2011/11/11/how-far-is-too-far-with-co-courtesy-of/
While the article doesn't come to any one conclusion, the comment section offers up a wide variety of opinions.
As a blogger, I think working with companies is a great way to share what you love with your readers, it allows me to offer the occasional giveaway, as well as exclusive discounts, but I also believe that it's a constant balancing act. I don't work with companies the same way I did a year ago, and by this time next year, my policies will have most likely changed again.
So I'm curious, to anyone who is interested in responding:
What are your opinions on "c/o" items? Do you accept them if you have a blog? Do you stop reading if a blogger lists items as "c/o"?
great look :))
Oh geeze, that sweater is perfect! and I love the color of that dress with the dark maroon tights! Hope you get a little snow! If you do, throw a snowball for me :)
I am impress with this stunning outfit. I just love these dress very much. Specially the blue shoes!
