April 11, 2011: Blue, White, Brown

Sweater: J.Crew (sale)
Shirt: J.Crew (old)
Jeans: Vintage (Dad's)
Bag: Vintage Coach ($14)
Shoes: Thrifted ($5)
Belt: AA
This is essentially what I wore all weekend: to breakfast Saturday morning, to the shipbuilder's whiskey plank party on Saturday night, the Sunday morning flea market, a walkabout at Dogtown and Mount Ann Sunday afternoon, and dinner Sunday night. I love these jeans, they may be one of my all time favorite things. See, these belonged to my dad when he was in Maine Maritime Academy, and they've been floating around our house ever since with a broken zipper. I finally brought them to the tailor and got the zip fixed and now they're mine! The most perfect high waist jeans. They're so soft and worn in, and the only flaw are the ink stains on the front, which don't bother me.

Did you have a nice weekend? Along with all the other stuff I already mentioned, Chris and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary this weekend! I can't believe it's been 7 years! I'm keeping things short and sweet today, I'm literally running out the door to the Museum and then to work this afternoon. Happy Monday!

Wou, I adore those jeans. And you hair. You have proved, that it is not the every-second-month hairdresser visit which is the only way to get gorgeous hair :).

It very much warms my heart that those jeans belonged to your dad. They are so fantastic and caught my eye so I scrolled down to quickly see where they came from (Emerson Made? ebay??). To see they were your dads is just unbearably awesome.

Have fun at the Museum.

I miss your septum. :-(

Orchid Grey said...

Anon: I miss it too, sometimes. I took it out because it was awkward to deal with at my jobs: at the store I work at I had to hide it, and at the museum kids focused more on my nose than what I was teaching them.

I saw a girl who looked just like you in Toronto about a month ago. She looked so familiar but I couldn't place her until I came across your blog again. So weird.

I like the high-waist flared denim. I miss wearing those, they're so much more comfortable than skinny jeans.

I have to hide my septum, too. I work as a secretary. I turn it up to my nose and really nobody can see it.

p.S. I love your blog.

Greets from germany!

How fabulous are those jeans? And they were your dad's? Reminds me of the last time I grabbed a jacket out of my in-laws closet. Cute blazer, fit perfectly, and of course was my father in law's from 20 years ago;) I couldn't talk him into giving it to me alas...

What a great pair of jeans. Your dad knew what he was doing when he broke them in for you all those many years ago.
