February has greeted us loud and proud! The snow started up around eight this morning and now it's really coming down. I love it though, working from home when it's snowing out is such a cozy feeling and I always seem to get more done.
This outfit is perfect for a day like today, so comfy for puttering around the house! When Ruche contacted me to see if I would like to try something from their shop, I was really excited. I'm a huge fan of their wares, and am even more-so since this dress arrived on my doorstep. I love maxi dresses, but as a girl of normal height (5'5") it's hard to find long dresses that aren't too long, luckily for me this one is perfect! It will be ideal for Spring, but right now it's cold out, so I layered Smartwool tights beneath and added some warm moccasins. I had originally planned to pair an oversized sweater with the ensemble, but I tried this moto sweater instead and liked the effect. I'm glad I tried it too, it almost went on my shop closet blog, but I think I'll save it for a little while longer!
I really can't believe it's February! This month always seems to go by so fast, given it's two to three days shorter than every other month, but even so, it flies. I have to admit, I hope the snow keeps up, I know I'm probably in the minority here, but it's beautiful and for someone who can't afford to do too much this winter, I enjoy just viewing the beautiful winter scenery.
On a side note, someone asked me yesterday where my Formspring went. For those of you who don't already know (I mentioned it a little on Twitter and Facebook), I was receiving an excessive amount of inappropriate/rude comments and questions. I like keeping an open forum, but when people resort to name calling and bullying, it's time to shut it down. As a blogger I realize that I put myself out there and not everyone will agree with what I'm saying, or like my style for that matter, but I'm still human and not matter how high my self-esteem might be, those rude (rude isn't even the right word for it) comments/questions still sting.
I welcome (appropriate) questions via email or in the comments section, and will either address them in a post (like this), in an email back, or in a comment in the same post.
To my readers who leave me encouraging, constructive, and thoughtful comments everyday: thank you! Your community is what blogging is all about!

I love the rose bracelet with this outfit, it's a perfect detail. I'm hoping for more snow too. I hope it snows REALLY hard tonight so I can stay home from work tomorrow. But it should wait until I get home tonight so I don't have a miserable time getting back from Cambridge.
I'm so glad to see you in a maxi dress. I'm the same height and have never worn a long dress because of my average height. I want to give it a try now.

well Julie I think the amount of nasty things you had to read as a lot to do with the splendid woman you are, they (the #2!$%&!) wouldn't shoot their hate to something invisible would they? You are a star, a sun in the blogosphere! You are great, kind, funny, smart,honest, original, creative, authentic, beautiful and a true inspirational force for all of us girls who read you. Even someone who doesn't is that much into fashion would love your style and blog because what you say when you dress yourself is that we are here to be ourselves. All of you posts have a genunine touch and some hateful unbalanced persons just don't know how to deal with the fact they are missing something in life. Thank you for staying the same.
I also totally understand that, although they are just %&&$$# floating on the universe, at some point it doesn't make sense to have the space where those kind of persons can drop those kind of comments. It as nothing to do with high self-esteem, enough is enough, right?

Such a same that you had to get rid of your Formspring account. It's really funny though--no matter how many wonderful comments you get the nasty ones seem to stick around. But I will say I see MANY more sweet comments than nasty ones.

Thank you so much for the comment on my blog today. I haven't read the rest of the comments but I think you may have been the only one to bring up "Beth's" comments about my blog changing because I now have a boyfriend. I think that was definitely a hurtful remark, simply because of what you mentioned- so many bloggers went into blogging with a boyfriend/husband and are not judged when their lives/blogs go through changes that happen because of relationships in their lives. I would think it'd be ridiculous for my blog not to change now that I'm with Daniel, he's a huge part of my life and I'm not going to sacrifice my life with him for a blog, no matter how much I love blogging. I was pretty offended that someone thought I would "let a boy" change me like I was a 14 year old with a crush.
I guess I just wanted to thank you for your support, especially with that. I'm so excited about life right now! I wish I could make my way over to the Northeast, such a shame we live so damn far apart!
