It's time to come clean - because what better place than the internet to spill your most secret and embarrassing thoughts and memories- I played with Barbies until 8th grade. I loved barbie.

And I'm not so ashamed to admit at age 26, I kind of still love Barbie. Though not in a creepy Dare Wright kind of way. I also love Mad Men. Enter Barbie designer Robert Best, dude made my dreams come true today. More on the line -available in July- here.

No worries... I played with Barbies in 8th grade too! I think we turned out ok.
Ah! Madmen Barbies!! Fantastic! I am so in love with Joan's style on that show. Betty's is amazing too.

LOL, Don't be ashamed! Barbies are an awesome way to trip down memory lane. They're just too fun. I still have all my girls and a couple Kens (in storage- unfortunately)and I couldn't imagine doing away with them. Don't go to http://www.barbiecollector.com/ or you'll get sucked in and want to spend all income on fabulously dressed Barbies, rather than your own brillant wardrobe (your blog is a weekly stop for me:))
PS: love your style :)
oh holy cow! as if mad men couldnt get any better!!!!!!!
Yay for honesty and childhood dreams!
I also played with Barbie far longer than society deemed necessary, so now I just blog about clothing, rather than dream of inventing a "growing machine" so that I could make Barbie's outfits my size...
wow. i am in LOVE with this!!!!!!!!!

OMG I LOVE BARBIE! There is a Barbie museum in Palo Alto (in N. Calif) and I used to BEG my mom to take me EVERY weekend. I loved it there.
OMG YES!
Love this! although it would be much better if Christina Hendricks (Joan) was her normal sexy, voluptuous self.
hehe I played with barbies until I was 12 and my mom had to make me give them away =( =P hehe
I'm so excited for this you have no idea!

Love it. I've always been a Barbie lover as well. Heck, one of the first things I bought my college boyfriend--now my husband--was a matching Barbie and Ken. He thought I was crazy, but I guess he just likes crazy.

I'm totally buying one!
OMG! i played till i was in 8th grade too! but Barbie is the best! I think thanks to Barbie we all started our love for styling and fashion....maybe just a thought :)
I played with barbies till I was 15.
WHAT! Beat that! :P
I'm pretty sure I still played some AFTER 8th grade, and then again when I was in my early 20s with my little sister, lol. My mom even left a comment on my blog recently about how I was good at coming up with cool Barbie outfits, lol :D
me too. i also watched a lot of soaps so i pretended there were crazy love triangles and stacey was dealing with kevin getting aids. just regular kids stuff.
i really like the concept, but that does NOT look like the real joan! tooooo skinny! and after all the fuss about christine hendricks being a real woman ... you think someone would have given them the memo!
Omg. I think I may need to get these so they can play with my Scarlett O'Hara, Elvis and I Love Lucy Barbies...:)

Ok, so I thought I was the only one who played with Barbie well into the eighth grade! And I still love Barbie, too! I'm always swinging by the toy department at Target and inwardly drool over the new dolls they put out every so often. I just hope I have a daughter some day so I can play with these dolls again in a socially-acceptable manner! :)
Obviously I have to adore you because - hello! - I still have a slight obsession with dolls - and Barbie in general. In fact, I may or may not have bought one of those Little Black Dress Barbie's at Target the other day - tres cute!! :)
I played barbies until the 8th grade too! My best friend and I were like.. never.. tell..anyone..!! Haha!
me too, until I was almost 14. I'm always tempted to take out my Barbie Camper and all her darling outfits and do a photoshoot.
I am going to echo the statement and say that I too played with Barbie for many, MANY years, and I still love Barbie. I love the Mad Men Barbie idea.

Oh. My. God. I want. I want I want I want I want.
I have a whole collection of Breakfast at Tiffany's Barbie in storage. I may be able to justify these ones on that basis.
Oh my god, that is so incredible!!! I love the Mad Men Barbies. I wasn't a huge fan of them when I was growing up because once I got them all dressed I couldn't figure out what to do with em. Hahaha
Barbie is hands down the best. toy. ever.
Really cute outfit and it goes really well with your hair. Never commented before but check by your blog everyday. Thanks for the posts, they're really inspirational.
OMG I love those! I have my mom and aunt's old Barbies and this collection totally reminds me of those dolls, I love it!
