Some photos taken during last weekend's shoot at Glitter & Grit, a bridal boutique in Lawrenceville.

Greetings from Sunday night. I came out of hibernation this weekend, emerging to the sun, and birds, and life. This winter, while surprisingly void of the feelings that have - in the past - set in just after the holidays, felt dark nonetheless. It's been apparent by the chorus of similar complaints across the internet that others felt this too. These months have just been dark and cold, man. Too damn cold. So a little sun, and temperatures that climbed beyond the 40s felt like a vacation, or close to it. I even got a sunburn on my ear, how about that?

Sunburns aside, I can say with confidence: this weekend was wonderful and much needed. On Saturday, my other half turned the big 2-9. To celebrate, I gifted him some estate sale finds - a suede carry-all, leather belt, and a vintage batik-printed tie - accompanied him to the barber shop, and we participated in a flask-making workshop (clay flasks, we'll go back next week for a whiskey tasting and to glaze - what's better than clay and whiskey? Nothing), all before convening with friends at our favorite dive. It was refreshing to do something different, to get out of the house and see people on the sidewalks enjoying the weather, people in good moods who had nothing bad to say about the temperature (until, that is, it snowed later that night, ha.)

I've been quiet in blogging lately, instead focusing a bit more in restoring balance to other areas of my life. With the warmer weather, I can finally get outside and run. I ran my first five miles this weekend! Five miles that included some substantial Pittsburgh hills, so I'm rather proud. In the past, I've focused more on lifting and gym time, but lately I've been making more of an effort to increase my distance, from comfortable two and three milers, to something just a little more. And when the weather is right - that is, between 30 and 70 degrees - I love running outdoors. I've also just needed to make lately. To use my hands a bit more, to eschew the screen in favor of other materials. After all, the pursuit of other practices always leads to better writing, motivation, in other areas. I've got planters that need plants, and sketchbooks that need sketches. Picture frames that need filling. Bring it on, spring. A few more things...

Listening to... Mogwai, Tycho, Islands, Temples.

Reading...nothing! I need recommendations.

Thinking about...how I wish I knew more about my family.

Craving...some time off, a 'vacation' I guess.

So...how are you?
