Over the Weekend: A Simple Sunday

A Sunday well spent: snoozing cats, lots of Fleetwood Mac, a trip to the Library (I'm currently reading: Then, Again by Diane Keaton and Devil in the White City by Erik Larson), a long walk through Schenley Park, and a late lunch at Church Brew Works. Not pictured: a batch of the worst cookies I've ever made (still trying to figure out what went wrong, barometric pressure?), and one of the best quiches I've ever baked (pat on the back). We had hoped to get out to Ohiopyle for some hiking, but it's been so rainy that we decided to stick around town. Not too shabby of a weekend if I do say so. How was your weekend?

Oh that little meow meow is so cute. Totally snuggle worthy. Tell the truth, did you take the picture, and then go smush him with love. ;)

fleetwood mac is always an amazing weekend soundtrack.

i enjoyed lots of family time, cuddling with my niece, wrote some poems, and celebrated the big 2-5 for one of my best friends.

I finished Devil in the White City a few months ago. It was fantastic, but I want to know more about the killer guy (just forgot his name). Fascinating read, so many interesting facts about the Worlds Fair! xo

Oooo Isn't Devil in the White City so good?? I read it a couple years ago when it first came out and I've been wanting to read it again.

This sounds like such an awesome weekend. Any weekend with Fleetwood Mac can't be too bad. :)

Looks like the perfect weekend! I love those little green succulent looking things popping out of the mossy rocks - they're like happy little alien plants! Ha!
The one and only time I was in Pittsburgh I went to the Church Brewery Works. That place is weekend heaven!

I love your polka dot bed sheets. Where did you get them if you don't mind me asking?
Cheers!

Awe, kitty! And Church Brew Works is the best!

I wish it hasn't been so rainy, this time of year is the best for taking walks!

Have you made the recipe before? (Maybe there was a typo?) Last time I messed a recipe up it called for a stick and half of butter, I softened two sticks (with the intention of cutting the second in half) and then added both and realized it way too late.

Anyways, my quiches tend to turn out terribly, so there's that (Imma gonna fix that today by looking for a new recipe).

The Laurel Highlands are also nice but I'm sure it'll be a few more weeks before the trees have fully bloomed.

I would love to be able to spend my Sundays like that! Sadly, at the moment they seem to just consist of me trying to catch up on cleaning and study. Although next week I'll be spending a week in Melbourne, which I'm super excited about! (Btw, your cat is gorgeous)

I loved Devil in the White City. Read it about 6 years ago for the killer intrigue but then found all the historical information about the fair even interesting in some ways. My husband and I had a great weekend. Went to see Cults on Friday after a romantic dinner. A fun show. Saturday we went a magazine release party that friends were featured in. Sunday we took a long walk all around our city stopping into different stores we don't go to often. Lots of vintage and antique shops, a green living store, a poster and card store etc. Then dinner that night a good friend's house with kids. One of which is our god daughter. Hope you are having a great week! Holly
