June 30, 2011: Black, Leopard, Friendship Bracelet

Belt: Off a vintage dress
Sunnies; Gift from ex-coworker
Necklace: Madewell sale ($14?)
Friendship bracelet: "The wolf store" in York, ME- from Punky
Black cross back Bra: American Apparel

I like working in a place where my co-workers give me friendship bracelets, and I have to say, the bright, woven bracelet trend is one that I can definitely get behind. They're easy to make, affordable, and tie easily on to extremely tiny wrists. I like the color it added to my monochrome outfit yesterday. This is one of my favorite dresses, it's perfect for hot summer days like yesterday. The sheer fabric feels fantastic blowing against my legs. Except, you know the downside of the maxi dress/skirt trend? Driving in them. For a little height I added my ever-comfy Casita wedges. I also really love how this black bra looks under the dress, especially how it crosses in the back.

I'm off to my other job this afternoon, what are your plans? The weather in new England is finally acting like summer, take advantage!

Equal bouts of infatuation for the bracelet and the dress. I have a maxi skirt that looks like that. It moves like a jellyfish in the wind, but the inner slip has a habit of creeping up on me.

Love this easy breezy look. I have been getting way into bracelets lately (I am usually a rings and necklaces kind of girl), and I love the idea of wearing multiple friendship bracelets!

I love that dress. It would be the perfect outfit to wear right now when the wind is blowing. I think those maxi dresses just make you look like a goddess.

I stood in the dressing room of Buffalo Exchange yesterday wearing a skirt pretty much exactly in the style of your dress, deliberating over whether to get it. In the end, I walked away--it was cute and comfy, but ultimately, just not me. However, YOU look amazing in it!

What a pretty dress!! I love this outfit, it's like old Hollywood glamour meets Stevie Nicks with a modern twist... does that make any sense? haha

I wish I could wear maxi dresses, I am trying to find a good one but I fear I'm too short!

Love the dress! It looks cool enough to wear on warm days. I spent a lot of time in elementary school making friendship bracelets out of embroidery thread. I'll have to dust off my skills!

I didn't realize the back was a bra at first, because they look so similar! I wear friendship bracelets all the time, except I wear them on my ankles, haha.

Yup I'm loving the friendship bracelets at the moment too- I did a DIY on them at the weekend.
Clever with the bra- I hate having my bra show in clothes but this is so good, it looks like its meant to be there

Ah, I love this dress! (I'm still searching for the perfect sheer maxi skirt, but no luck so far - maybe next summer.) Those sandals are the perfect complement too. :)

great dress! I am loving the visible bra look lately. When done right it's cute and practical (I hate strapless bras).

Summery in black and so chic :) I've got so many friendship bracelets from my time travelling through Southeast Asia and they remind me of being 12 and exchanging bracelets with friends. I never thought they'd become a fashion trend so that makes me happy but also a little amused.

That black maxi dress looks wonderful on you! The way your bra crosses in the back is really cool too. I love the leopard print belt you paired with it.
