I might as well admit to myself that this week has been a bit of a bust. Sometimes you just need to step back and away, and that seems to be what I've done. I know it's not a big deal, but I think I put a lot of pressure on myself to get EVERYTHING done now because I spent the first half of my life living in slacker-ville. So a "blog-cation" it is. I also really need to get my taxes done.
This picture is from one of my family's many road trips to Canada, back in...1999? My mom rigged our bus with a sleeping pallet in the back so we wouldn't have to bother with setting up a tent. I really miss having a bus. Anyway, I've been thinking a lot about this summer, and I really want to make the most of it. Do you have any summer plans?
Have a great weekend, and I'll see you all next week!

Hey Julie! Great picture and thanks for sharing! I wish I had a bus, too. I love car camping but I don't think I'll be doing any this summer...I'll be quite pregnant over the summer and will be focusing on swimming as often as possible. =)
p.s. I have long thick hair just like yours and every time I'm thinking about chopping it I always change my mind because you always wear yours with....I guess....authority! The intentional way you seem to carry that awesome head of hair always makes me change my mind. So...thanks. =) It's still growing...
Congrats on taking some time for you!

Lots of Maine Trips...You should come.
have a wonderful "break"! this photo is SO sweet. xoxo joanna
It's good to recognize when you need a little break to refuel. I am doing so myself as I have resigned my position as an Anesthesia Technician and I am currently unemployed. It was so stressful that I had to step away and figure out what I really want to do with the rest of my working years. Good for you Julie...I will look for you next week darling. Dawn Suitcase Vignettes xo Great photo...I love buses and caravans!!!!
Thank you guys for your sweet comments!
Sometimes disconnecting is the best thing ever. Spend lots of time outside, or lazing in bed, or cat cuddling! Enjoy the mini-break!
ahh, yes taxes, i hear you on that... almost finished with mine, but have been stressing out about them for the past month.
no real plans so far this summer, but hoping for a little road trip and catching some baseball games. :)
have a good break Julie! it's easy to get so consumed in blogging/the internet/technology. crazy!
i love that photo from your '99 road trip. my family and i did the same, we had a pop-up camper and the furthest we went was yellowstone national park in wyoming. i love the open road!
CANADA!
I miss camping and making road trips.
Love the Vanagon. I have a 1984 Westfalia Vanagon camper that is my pride and joy. So many potential road trips!
Happy blog-cation! We'll miss you!
I hope after taking some time off everything will become clearer :)
But please don't leave the blog world for too long!
Sending love from Australia!
Enjoy your blog-cation- you deserve one. This photo makes me nostalgic for summer days camping with my family. i love it. i want this summer to be an extra good one too. i want to visit my brother in Los Angeles, and i want to play more guitar and saxophone again... honestly I'm just looking forward to swimming in the river & spending time with all the wonderful people in my life. (:
I agree about this summer (and the blog-cation). I am planning on spending 99% of it outdoors. I want to camp, cookout, garden and (most of all) enjoy my family. I am moving closer to them in May. It will be the first time in 10 years that I will be able to enjoy them each and every day.
Enjoy your time off!
I think my summer will revolve around my return to the States and the 9-to-5 world. I guess I really can't complain since I've been on a seven month (and counting!) vacation. :)
cute blog post..love that van! I have you on my blog roll..hope you can check me out too! long time fan.
