It's snowing out right now, and I'm so happy! I took these photos on Friday, before Chris and I drove North to visit my Mom, no snow then but freezing! Now that I'm home more often, I found myself really pining for a decent pair of jeans. All of the pairs in my closet were either too big now or falling apart. I had to go to Boston on Thursday afternoon to pick up my last check, so while I was there I stopped in to Madewell. I decided that if I was going to buy a new pair of jeans, I would invest in a really nice pair, one that could replace the multiple pairs that really needed to be shed from my closet. I have to say I'm incredibly pleased, these were totally worth spending a little bit more on. Oviously, I didn't just leave with just a pair of jeans, I also found two amazing sweater, both on sale. I'm in love.
I decided to pair this brown double-breasted sweater with my new cat print top from ModCloth, I'm in love with this shirt. I've been looking for something that had this iconic cat-print for the longest time, but was never satisfied with the quality of the print. I'm glad i held out, these cats actually look like cats and not tailed blobs. I also realized that I tend to under-accessorize. I'm usually fine with just a necklace, but I decided to stretch my boundaries and add earrings and a pin.
Did you have a nice weekend? We had a great time in Maine. I visited with my Mom while Chris went snowboarding, and then we went to our friend's annual yankee swap party.

Happy Monday!

wow i love that pins! I want that too! : D ♥
I adore everything about this outfit...you're also making me have rather an unhealthy desire to visit Madewell!
Having an obsession with everything cat-related, I like your shirt a lot! :) And reading your blog always makes me want to go thrift shopping, I'm not quite sure why.. Pity that I'm a little ill and it's too cold to wander around town.
loooove that sweater! I almost bought it when it was on sale, but had to resist. Looks great on you!
:)
i love this sweater - it's very reminiscent of something that mr. rogers would wear (and i mean that in the best way - the man had serious style!).
love this look. very ecclectic
I love this look, the double breasted jacket is gorgeous. Those jeans fit you perfectly!! Yay for purging old stuff from the closet. I have an entire trash bag full of clothes for my sister to sift through =P
Love the braid in your hair and of course the jack daniels pin!
I love your hair. I wish mine would do that but it's so fine. I will have to live vicariously through you. :-)
Looks like a warm and comfy outfit, I like it! Great fir on the jeans, just perfect.

Hi, Dawn from Suitcase Vignettes here just dropping by to say hello and to wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! Love the outfit, fit is everything and you wear your clothing so well...so pretty. I have been busy with my little Timothy Winter Kitty...he is sooo busy. It is nice to have a kitty at Christmas. Drop in and say hello when you get a minute. Just got back from a weekend in NYC so I must update my blog. Have a great week...:D
This outfit is lovely, the jeans look great!
I've totally given up buying jeans because it usually ends up in tears, I like the idea of having a really really good pair instead of like a hundred ill fitting pairs.
Also; I love love love the way you do your hair
The braids look great with your new fringe, and I love the sweater too!
This outfit is SO awesome. I love all your accessories (especially the pin!). I've been wanting that blouse too. It looks great on you!
you look gorgeous! love everything you wear but to me, this is head to toe perfection. Love. Love. LOVE! what style jeans are these, I want them! They fit you so well :)
Yes, I love it when you wear your hair like that! (I have to say you have inspired me to pin it up like that as well). Completely in love with that Madewell sweater; I thought it was a peacoat from far away. I'm also really liking those dangly earrings! Ahhh I'm so jealous- I haven't had any snow yet in CT!
I like the jack daniels pin : )
That Jack Daniels pin is a nice touch! I also really like your necklace, madewell has it from another jewelry company and its way more than you spent at the ship building museum!

Love the necklace! I have major hair envy btw.
that shirt is so awesome, i just love anything with cats prancing around. this is a great laid back look. your hair gives me such pangs of regret for hacking all mine off.
The hair, the hair, teach us how to do the hair!
I love your top! You look so amazing!

I just read your twitter comment "Snow storms in MA make me miss @livinginmaine where people actually know how to drive in bad weather!" There's definitely a hierarchy similar to vegan/vegetarians, haha. Being from MA and having since lived in PA and VA, I think they are all horrible drivers in winter weather, but someone more north of where I am from has a similar mindset towards my state, lol. :D
That top is so cute, very MIU MIU!
Lovely top! Reminds me a bit of all of the adorable Miu Miu kitty cat print pieces that came out last Spring.
i love this outfit on you, the braids are just darling <3
this outfit is so cute! I love the cat print top
