Come in from the cold

Jacket: Urban Outfitters sale ($30)
Scarf: Thrifted ($5)
Tucker Blouse: Swapped
Boots: Jeffrey Campbell sale ($30-ish)
Necklace c/o Dolly & Boy
It's the time of year where the number of pieces of clothing I'm wearing nearly triples, November has been a cold month so far, and it'll only get colder. I've been wearing jeans more than usual lately, I love this pair from UO but need to get some new ones. I hate when jeans stretch out! It seems as if my dressing strategy as of late has been to put on as many layers as possible until I'm warm. On Saturday, Chris and I woke up embarrassingly late, though it was nice to sleep in on such a gloomy and over cast day. We went out to breakfast and then trekked down to the beach. It's funny because as soon as October hits, it becomes so easy to forget that we're only 1/4 mile from the ocean. This time of year the shore is nearly abandoned, the sand littered with dog tracks, people walking their dogs being the only people who venture down there. It was very cold and very windy at the beach, we didn't stay long. The rest of Saturday was spent thrifting, and we found some great stuff, which I'll post about tomorrow. And I made pumpkin cookies, which were delicious.

Now it's back to the work week, which I'm not ready for! Did you all turn your clocks back? I was only tricked once by the time change, I forgot to change my stove and coffee maker clocks and nearly had a heart attack when I saw the time, I thought I was an hour late for work!

Did you have a nice weekend?

same here. I got in the car and saw the clock on the dashboard and about threw up. Then I remembered - WHEW!!!!!!

I love all these layers. Very Irish feeling to these photos I think. Maybe its the sweater, maybe the water - dunno

You look so cozy! Layering up in jackets and chunky knits is my very favorite thing about cold weather.

I actually remembered all my clocks this time round which is surprising. Usually I forget a few and then have a similarly shocked reaction.

These are gorgeous pictures! They look straight out of a UO or Anthro catalog!

Love the layering! I hear you on the cold and annoying stretched out jeans - I've found throwing them in the dryer for 10 to 20 minutes helps them regain their shape a bit!

It looks freezing, but at least you have the layering gift (and an awesome scarf). I just never seem to own enough sweaters to layer properly. I managed to change my clocks a day early this year. Confusion!

We made the swap on Halloween but I doubt I'll ever bother to change the time on my camera :D

Your cardi is just brilliant. I love wintery beaches, gorgeous shots :)

you look so cozy. november is my favorite because you can break out all the knits :)
I did set my clock back, and that 'extra hour of sleep' was fantastic.

Great outfit, I love all the layering! It looks so warm and nice!

The time change confused me so much this year. See, I was still a little jetlagged from my trip to the East Coast, so it was like adjusting to two time changes at once! Haha!

You do a great job of layering! It's a great mix of neutrals and it looks like the perfect outfit for a gloomy cold day.

I'm cuddled up in a very similar sweater. Big sweaters and sitting by a fire at night are two of the only things I love about Boston winters. I'm really liking how you paired this big cozy sweater with the tougher military style jacket. I can't say that I would have thought to do that, but it looks right.
