Autumn Dreaming

With the recent string of 90 degree scorchers, all I find myself dreaming about these days are the crisp days of Autumn. Fall is my favorite season in New England, and I'm especially looking forward to it this year because I will actually be able to slow down and enjoy it, no more crazy travel life for the school! I can't wait to go apple picking, go to the fair in Maine, bake pies, and maybe take a drive through the White Mountains of New Hampshire; all things I grew up doing that remain as some of my favorite activities now.

I'm also finding myself fixated on all of the pre-fall items my favorite online shops are beginning to receive. My summer dresses are all but exhausted, my cut offs look tired, I can't wait to layer! I put together this Autumn-esque ensemble with that in mind, it's a celebration of the colors of Fall: deep plums, reds, oranges, greys, and golds.

What are you excited for this Fall?

I dream day in and day out of cooler air. I can't stand this humidity. I too and in New England, Massachusetts to be exact. And my favorite season is the Fall, I can't wait for Boots, and jeans and light jackets, I can't wait for Apple picking, pumpkin picking and baking cookies.

Halloween is also my favorite holiday so I am real excited for haunted houses and picking out a halloween costume.

Bring it on! I am ready for it NOW!

I'm moving to Florida from Philadelphia, so I'm looking forward to delicious warmth until at least October. Call me crazy, I know...

=)

Adore those grey textured tights and ruffly skirt together. In fact, if Academichic does another neutrals week in the fall it would make a great bottom half for a rockin' mauvey grey outfit.

Congrats on your engagement, by the way! So happy for you two!

I'm so glad I'm not alone on this dreaming for Fall thing... I've been obsessing over jeans, cardigans, scarves and LAYERS... and it makes me sweat just thinking about it!

I think I'm going to be all about the sweater knit tights and dresses this Fall, but I sure do love those plum shoes!

I want my knits! :) I'm thinking of knitting my own chunky circle scarf and some arm warmers!
I normally live in Southern California so 'fall' is more like a slight drop in temperature and serious layer isn't necessary. But I go to school in Rhode Island and I absolutely love the fall. I really can't wait to layer and wear cool stockings.

totally love those JC shoes. although i'm not really looking forward to autumn (summer in england goes by waaaay to quickly), i am excited to find the perfect khaki parka and leopard print jacket. i want to mix deep greens/browns with berry colours like those shoes. yum yum.... okay, i guess autumn isn't so bad after all. xx

When you mention the fair in maine, are you talking about the Fryeburg?? My family all go and make a day out of it every year, usually on the last weekend of the fair.

Just curious!

I'm in love with that Madewell blouse and the Pixie boots - been looking for the electric blue color forever!

Fall in my neck of the woods is actually Indian Summer - our summer is usually kind of foggy and fall is sunny but not too hot. When late fall/winter rolls around, I'm looking forward to wearing lots of socks and layers in various shades of nude and gray! I'm still loving the military/glam combo.
