I wish I had some more photos to show from this weekend, but unfortunately by the time we got around to taking outfit shots on Sunday, I realized I left my good camera at my mom's house and all we were left with was my little point and shoot! Damn! Whenever Chris and I go North we both tend to get so wrapped up in visiting family and friends and running around, that we forget to document the whole thing completely. Luckily I remembered to grab some shots of my outfit before we ran out to see fireworks in Portland, ME last night...

I've had this dress forever, but always feel weird wearing something so patriotic before July 4th. It was perfect for the day though, especially paired with my Jeffrey Campbell's:

Dress: Forever 21 ($19)
Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell ($60)
Sunnies: Fred Flare ($11)
Belt: from Mom
Bracelet: Vintage via Modern Millie's ($4)
(photos: Chris)
I love the combination of red, white, and blue and with the addition of some little anchors, this dress is perfectly nautical and patriotic. The simple shape kept me very cool throughout the day, it was so hot! I wish we had had the chance to get to the beach. We were supposed to stay in Portland until this morning, but actually ended up driving back to Massachusetts last night at around 3 AM. Traveling is all well and good, and it great to see friends and family and all, but I am so happy to be home!

How was your weekend?

I adore this outfit. I'm English but I've been enjoying seeing all the patriotic bloggers outfits. This is one of my faves! Such a cute dress and the sunglasses shot at the top is so wonderful of you both.
I've had this dress for a long while, too and I've never worn it! You look great in it, especially for the holiday!

love the very appropriate holiday outfit + that darling ponytail! :)

What a great, fun patriotic outfit! I love those Jeffrey Campbells...they are awesome! Happy Fourth!

I'm loving this outfit...I never really loved the Red, White and Blue combo until recently (perhaps because I'm not American?!)...unfortunatly for me Canadas colours are only Red and White...not quite as fun as the American Flag. And growing up red was my most hated colour...but after seeing quite a few of your outfits with pops of red in them I am really wanting a bold red pair of shoes (am contemplating a certain pair at this moment)
I almost wore that same dress! Looks so cute on you!
Those little anchors are adorable! Everything about this outfit is great. You and Chris look so cute together (his bow tie is fantastic) I can't stand it!
Ooh, I love your ponytail. It is pure perfection! <3

Love love love your hairstyle! Gorgeous!
I'm totally loving your hair! I've been trying to get the same effect in the front without the use of a Bump-It. If you have the time, I would love to see another hair video. I'm still using the side bun/braid combo that I think you posted last summer? Fall? Either way, you're so hair savvy!
oh my! How freakin' cute are you and chris??!! I love his red bowtie and your whole red, white and blue outfit! You guys are awesome!

This is adorable!! The perfect outfit for the 4th.
how fun!
I have an odd affinity for dressing in theme! I love your patriotic get up, the itty bitty anchors are really making me weak in the knees! Hope you had fun visiting family up in Maine.
Heaps cute dress, I love the combination of red, blue and white stripes too and its kinda cool how the dress already uses pattern mixing without having to bring in another item.
love how the brown belt complemented and broke up the red and blue dress! the dress is adorable!
♥ vanilla ice cream ♥
Pretty dress! You look adorable.
great dress, it looks perfect on you :]
Ah you pull off the patriotic look so well, I always feel like if I wore red white and blue I'd look corny, but you just look too cute!
You guys look crazy dapper in your outfits! I especially love the little boats in your dress and the bowtie on your dude. I get so envious when I hear about big family get togethers! My family is all the way on the other side of the country and I hardly ever travel for the holidays, but it's beautiful to be reunited with family and friends!

I really like it :) If you're going to do red, white, and blue on the 4th, this is definetely the way to go.

what a wicked dress! i must say, i'm pretty jealous of all the awesome outfit opportunities you americans have on fourth of july - canada day is great and all but there's only so much you can do with red and white!
PS love those shoes!
Definitely one of my favorite outfits ever! The dress and shoes are so rad! :)
The fireworks were pretty good in Portland, no?
That dress is perfect for walking down commercial St. and relaxing.
Life has been a whirlwind for me, I moved to London for a few months and the Mr. got me engaged... I plan to come back, but first I need to come down.
I just discovered your blog from JenLovesKev, and I love it! I also have this dress and wore it when I was featured on Glamour.com. It's so precious, and you look great!
Take care,
Kendra
