I never promised you a rose garden

Today, the rain finally stopped. It was still very grey out, yes, but finally dry! In celebration of water not dumping buckets from the sky, I chose to wear something very Spring-y:
Photobucket
Dress: TjMaxx (24.00 w/giftcard)
Cardigan: UO thrifted form savers (3.00 old)
Wedges: Matiko via LF (40.00 sale)
Tights: Urban Outfitters (4.99 sale)
Necklaces: Dolly and Boy, Leviticus, UO, J.Crew

I love the rose print on this dress, it's definitely not a pattern that I would normally pick out, but I think the colors are fantastic. Since starting this blog I've really started to take more risks in the patterns I wear and even in the styles I go for. I really love bright patterns now!

I'm keeping things short tonight, but I'm curious: What fashion risks have you taken lately?

I love this dress! I love how the colors are toned down with the nude backgroud. And that it's from TJMaxx - my favorite store :)

And yay for no rain!

This dress might be my favorite of yours. It's genius paired with the muted colors.

Umm...fashion risks..I did some pattern mixing recently and that was a lot of fun! :) I also wore a lot of orange.

About a year ago I went to my closet and decided that wouldn't allow myself to buy any new black items! I only meant it to last through the summer, but I ended up not buying any black until 2 new pieces very recently. It definitely made me step out of my comfort zone and try so many new things! I still feel a little guilty when I buy black. That dress is great on you, and definitely fits in with my no black decision!! I might have to try to find one like it.

Really cute dress! And I love the gold envelope necklace :]

I think my blog in general has helped me to take more risks in my style. It challenges me to put thoughts into my outfits instead of throwing on just a t-shirt and jeans.

Love that dress...the colors are fantastic. I've definatly tried alot of new things this year since starting my blog...the biggest (for me) risk I took was a few days ago wearing socks with sandals... Check it out here.

i actually think my style has .. ehem .. matured since i started outfit blogging! i definitely appreciate neutrals more than i did before anyway. i still love florals, especially this dress!

My style was horrible before I started blogging - so I would have to say the biggest risks I've taken so far are bright color & patterned tights. Never wore them before, and now I'm addicted to buying them.

lovely dress! (I'm also glad for your sake that the rain stopped!)
I guess my biggest risk would be wearing hats.. which sounds silly! I only have 2 and I don't wear them too often but man, when I do I feel like such a risk taker! haha xxx

I really like your shoes. Ive been trying to find a similar pair with absolutely no luck.

As for my risk...going braless. Why not? No one notices usually

That dress is so pretty and I love how you've worn it with that cardigan and belt.

I DON'T LIKE THIS DRESS.

...I LOVE IT.

i love the dress and the cardigan! i wish i could have something like this...:-)

my fashion risk: seriously, to be honest, I've been wearing my shirts without any bras. I like the whole hippy 'bra-less' shirt look but I never had the guts to do so. But now I've been doing it more and more, and since I have a small bust and all- I pull it off.

I love the floral. I don't usually go for them either but they look fantastic.

My current theme week is my risk. I've been revamping looks from old childhood photos, but it makes me feel kind of childish. But I believe that risks pay off, so my fingers are crossed that something good comes out of it!

those are truly rad necklaces.

The dress is so adorable, love the colors and the pattern. And I also love your necklaces :)

It's good to go for something different from time to time...My fashion risk (although I don't consider it a risk): wearing more pink! I have a pale/pink skin and pink isn't my color but I don't mind it anymore!

I actually took a leaf out of your book recently and bought my very first leopard print item.

Such a pretty print dress, and I love your necklace! The envelope is so cool! I don't think I've taken many fashion risks lately, but I'd like to try!

You look ravishing!
Hooray for no rain :)

Recently, I've started to wear my hair wavy. While this by no means is a fashion risk, it is for me, and I really like it!

Also, wearing fun socks with open toed shoes! My mom still doesn't understand :)

The floral on this dress is really unique! The colors are awesome and I'm in love with how you styled it! Fashion risks.. well.. yesterday I was feeling sick and just wore jeans and a big sweatshirt and.. Uggs. Yupp. That's how crappy I was feeling.

wow, very nice dress indeed!

The last things i tried were yellow tights, and old pink floral dress with a lace collar (uo sale)... would have never worn either of those two items just a few months ago!

I love that dress. And I agree, with blogging I'm much more likely to wear a skirt or dress than I was before.

I wore pants to a show Saturday night. I know that sounds silly but I almost never wear jeans - I feel so uncomfortable in them. These were patterned/bleached and crazy...I wore them with a bright yellow top instead of a long black tunic.
I love this bright dress!

My biggest fashion risk was once I wore a striped REALLY short dress with leg warmers which I cut from an old hoodie, with ballet flats-style sneakers. I didn't want to wear leggings because I thought that the leg warmers would look weird otherwise; I don't know if I'll ever wear that same outfit again!

The rain stopped, but where is the sun? You look really cute, I like your shoes!

That dress looks so pretty on you!

As for fashion risks...I discussed my weariness about my new trousers in my latest post. I left the house liking my outfit, but knowing it was a risk. My boyfriend said they were "big" and a lady a J. Crew stared at them...but I still like them!

Love this dress! I'm not a big risk taker, but right now I'm wearing a pair of vintage pink flower earrings from the 60s :)

I love your style:) the dress is gorgeous!

you look simply radiant in this dazzling floral print – love the first shot where you’re tangled up in the ivy… very cute! i think my biggest fashion risk has to be with my lip colors. i was always shy about rocking a bold red or pink lip but now i’m getting to the point where i can be fearless…

What a great dress! Thank goodness for the sun and the warm and the end of the rain! My recent fashion-risk-taking involves actually wearing a hat that isn't a warm winter hat. I keep looking at/wanting/occasionally picking up lovely hats, but it always feels like such a risk for me to wear them. (and yet, I see other bloggers pulling off the vintage hat look so easily!)

I like your dress a lot! Perfect for spring
