Over The Weekend: Thrift Finds

Since we were snowbound most of the weekend, I don't have a ton of photos to share. Saturday and Sunday were the last days of my glorious two week vacation and I wanted to spend them doing very little with a few specific characters: Chris and my cats. We lazed about mostly, but on Sunday we did manage to get the gumption up for a little thrifting. See, I'm not the only one in this apartment that enjoys the sweet aroma (mothballs and dust, if you're wondering) of Salvation Army and Savers...
There is a second guilty party: Chris.
Savers was delightfully empty Sunday afternoon due to the storm and we had the whole place (almost) to ourselves. I struck out majorly, but Chris found a couple of great pieces!
I can claim credit for spotting the vintage wool cardigan above, which is in perfect condition and very grandpa-ish in the best way. After I wandered off in search of my own treasures (bah humbug) Chris found a great vintage Pendleton wool plaid shirt in excellent, never worn condition (below, it's the one in his arms)
In the evening we watched season 2 of Mad Men (love) which he had borrowed from my friend Emily and hung out with our cats. Zeb and Zephyr are brothers and are both rescue cats, they were feral when we found them as kittens but you would never guess it now! Zeb loves to sit with us when either of us is on the computer, and always manages to become the center of attention:
Chris' glasses ARE real btw.

What an awesome cat. My cat was definitely part wild. His mother was a barn cat and my guess is some feral cat is his father. However, he has never really out grown it. he is a great cat and isn't mean at all but he spends a lot of time outdoors and doesnt like to cuddle at all. Very unaffectionate except for the odd time. You lucked out with our feral cat!

My mail cat I had with my husband was sweet when he wanted to cuddle or he was sleepy but watch out if he was ready to play.

I love shopping for hidden treasures!

I must admit, Savers had me a bit overwhelmed. I want to like vintage shopping, but I get all allergy-y and claustrophobic!

I never ever win at thrift stores :( all we have by my house are stretch-band jeans and hawaiin shirts. Fail.

Perfect weekend! I love everything about it. You and your beau, thrift shopping and adorable kitties. Sounds just like Brett and I. :D
